The Break Down: Riven

Riven was a massively influential game in 1997, so this remake had a lot of ground to cover to call back to that legacy. It manages to be the same Riven we knew but expanded and altered in ways that make it a new experience. The fully 3D environments are fantastically realized and fun to explore, the puzzles are as varied and difficult as ever, and the narrative hits the same points while managing to add some extra depth to the mysterious age we're wandering around. Overall, an excellent puzzle game that holds on to what made the original great without letting itself get dragged down by tradition, highly recommended.
