Never overrated. Travis is one of the best drummers of this generation. I don't care about how complex he can or cannot play, the guy has style. The guy has dynamics as well as original parts, simple beats and complex fills. It's not overplaying. He picks his spaces. He is an entertainer, and he is doing it right. Don't tell me you can go to a Travis Barker show and never be entertained. He has a feel and a sound that I've never heard from anyone. When I hear a song and think "oh wait, that's Travis!", that obviously means he has succeeded at becoming an original drummer. He will be and should be one of the most iconic drummers in the future when we look back at how he played. I never knew how amazing he was until I saw him live. Once that happened, he instantly became a huge influence on me, forever changing the amount of energy and passion I have while I perform.

Drummer Nate Travis is the drummer that everyone who starts playing drums adores because he overplays on popular rock songs. There are few bands out there like Blink where the drummer is well known and travis is as popular as he is because of how he overplayed a lot of the blink tracks and then sold out to do crap with MTV and hip hop artists. Is he a good drummer? Ya he has good speed and I enjoy his use of tom beats but if you ask any drummer that's been playing for awhile, they will tell you travis barker is overrated

Vic Firth I never have had an issue like that.
@bd_drums76734 жыл бұрын
@@liveraddieradder its not fake news search it up dude, zildjian own vic virth, they are manufactureed in the same place. really depends on what sticks you use though. i use the travis barker signutare sticks. compared to promark and vicvirth they last me longer. when i used to use a mix of those two sticks id always have a few sticks completley snapped down the middle by the end of the gig. with my zildjian sticks they are amazing. altough i shouldnt be promoting those, im endorsed by collision drum sticks ‘pssst theyre really good ‘ you should give them a try. the 5br sticks have a nice balance to them and makes fast singles a lot easier to play

@@bd_drums7673 I use Hickory Vic Firth Extreme 5As and 1 pair lasts me months, even when teaching lessons 5-6 hours a day. It's because it's an OCDP haha also it's his side snare which is usually like 10 inches so he tunes it tighter
@jlbourgeois5049 жыл бұрын
+Jimmy a ocdp doesnt mean shit.. Guitar Center now owns OCDP's name and logo.. and most of their drums are now made overseas using shitty quality asian maple. OCDP its just one of like 10+ shops that use THE SAME EXACT SHELLS. So you cant sit there and say "ahh well his shit sounds dope cause it's OCDP". I build drums using the same shells OCDP use (Keller Maple).. people just dont know what theyre talking about
@jimmya86579 жыл бұрын
+John Bourgeois He plays OC customs, and so do i. And yes they may use the same wood but OCDP does all their own drilling, lathing, venting etc... Nothing any company has ever made even comes close to the quality of OC's snares. Especially nothing you can do.
@jlbourgeois5049 жыл бұрын
+Jimmy a "OC customs"??? There is no "OC Customs" LOL no dude OCDP is basically no more. Please dont be another ignorant person on this thread. there's no "lathing" involved.. the shells are bought from keller ready to drill.. seriously thats stupid that you said lathing.. venting IS drilling as well.. and seriously dont be stupid dude... Watch this.. Ill name you a handful of companies/shops that use Keller shells. Literally all these shops buy their shells from the SAME company.. here we go... OCDP, Pork Pie, Dark Horse Percussion, SJC, Truth, Savior, GMS, Ayotte, Precision, Spaun.. thats just to name a FEW. OCDP "quality" is garbage.. which is why they fell off and why guitar center bought their name and rights and started having their drums built overseas using shit parts.. dont believe me? go into guitar center and look inside of one of the 40-ply OCDP snare that GC sells... look at the inside and tell me how the drill holes look... its like a 5 year old drilled it (clearly without using pilot holes, if you know what that is)....Hell.. even DW and C&C used to use Keller shells before they both started pressing their own shells. "Nothing any company has ever made even comes close to the quality of OC's snares".. again kid.. dont be a dumbass.. Quality in a custom drum means shit... especially if youre stupid enough to not know what youre talking about.. literally.. and i mean literally.. almost ALL of the shops i listed buy their parts from the same 3 or 4 different distributors... dont believe me? call one of them and ask. Im endorsed by one of them ;-). I own 3 keller kits and i build snares and kits myself AND i also buy my parts from those distributors. So in short.. dont be all butthurt that you (or your parents) probably spent $4000 for 3 stupid ass OCDP drums and they arent a legit company anymore. If you dont believe me that Guitar Center bought them, go ahead.. knock yourself out.. google it ;-) Bye bye now
