Thanks Peter. Glenn and Balaji and you are three that I trust. Integrity, freedom of thought, moral compass are sadly lacking in the current environment. You help me by clarifying what we are all up against. Corruption in every form.

Galaxy brains deep dive down the rabbit hole. Fantastic! Easily in your top 5 shows Peter. Well Done!!! There is so much friction and so many obstacles in Western leadership that it cannot sustain the incentive of Bitcoin. Government response is what I worry about. They can't stop it, but they can cause harm.

Nice to see gleen Greenwald on the podcast! Getting journalist that aren't sellouts to come and learn about/discuss bitcoin is such a big deal. I can say that I actually didn't get involved with bitcoin at first because of the what gleen said in the beginning, which is the libertarian politics. Getting people to see that bitcoin is not necessarily not tied to that politics and is a tool to free people from the current problems of the legacy system is so important!

Really looking forward to part two. Not enough thought goes into how a transition might function if Bitcoin becomes mainstream and the possible fallout from a fiat meltdown. 1:04:00 Glenn on concerns that as Bitcoin moves closer to becoming a threat to the prevailing order, it will elicit a response from that order-the constituents of that order can also buy Bitcoin and have a much greater capacity to do so than most. Bitcoin has a life raft for everyone on the sinking ship, even the rats.

Balaji is cool and I respect his work & pov, but Peter could have done a much better job of moderating this entire conversation. I honestly wanted to hear more from Glenn and more about Bitcoin. Instead, we get Balaji composing his next essay live with a hostage audience. Again, I love Balaji, Pete, & Glenn. Just wish this could have been more of a conversation between you three and not the Balaji Ted talk I just saw.

The response to concentration of wealth in a small holder class in bitcoin was missing the simple explanation that the handful of largest wallet addresses are actually exchanges and publicly traded trusts, so they’re single addresses representing millions of people
@franklinrodriguez18022 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is true and I would say that if you think about people that have 50k or more btc rn, if bitcoin does go to 100 trillion market cap, will be ridiculously rich. Children born 75 years from now won't get the benefit of being born when btc was cheap hence we could see a recreation of a similar inequal system we see today.
@mujtabashanan35482 жыл бұрын
Bitcoin was trading for less than a penny in the free market, anyone could bought any amount of it, there wasn't any pre-mine and the release was public from the start, any anyone could mine it on there computer until recently. Concentration of wealth, comes naturally with any early investors or venture capital in in the stock market, it is not something exclusive for bitcoin. Those early investors risked their capital in something new that may fail or get banned and were ridiculed for years over it, they deserve to benefit form success of their investment.

I was under the impression anarchy meant no government. But he's using anarchy as if it means chaos. What are the typical definitions that people are using today? If anarchy means no government then those public/government areas that he talks about being dangerous would be privately owned and privately secured creating more stability not chaos like he describes. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

The modern left does not see decentralization as empowering because their ideology innately depends on authoritarianism. Decentralization undermines their whole program. Also, most of their underlying motives are not about actually helping people, but instead fueling their collective addiction to moral superiority and moral panic. So when Glenn says he wants the left to understand that Bitcoin can help their cause, in my opinion he is being naive or willfully ignorant about their motives. I think their motives are immoral in the first place, which is precisely _why_ their tactics are the way they are. Actions speak louder than words. Leftists could become moral people, but it would take inherent changes in their moral foundation, not just a shift in tactics.
