Getting a lot of butt hurt comments on this one. Jack has no idea what the thief stole, hence his confusion & why he didn’t go out to confront the thief himself. It’s rush hour & now there is a line of people in the candy isle being inconvenienced by the thief. Jack is clearly clicking the cameras on the right side of the screen, which is supposed to pull up the video footage & it’s not. Sometimes the DVR acts wonky / slow which is what happened here. Not to mention, the friend shouldn’t even have come in. The thief should have taken responsibility for his own actions. Hopefully the good friend got his $20 back from the thief. Unfortunately we’ll never know.

A couple of weeks ago ( after a month or so of watching these ) I went to the mini mart around here that I’ve gone to for 5 years and actually asked the owner if he’s ever thought I stole because I always look up at the counter and greet him. He admitted that the first 6 or 7 months that I started going there he saw that as suspicious and would always review the camera after I left because of that. He told me after a while of watching and not seeing a thing he stopped. I found it funny as all hell and to this day I’ll do the same and it always gets brought up and joked about.

Jared Hicks Walmart is not a good example because they are able to purchase in such large quantities that the price they pay per unit cannot be compared to a convenience stores cost. Also Walmart can absorb much more loss by theft without the threat of adversely affecting their bottom line simply because of the massive volume of product moved compared to a convenience store.
