Right, so, this is the band I started with my friends Anton and Travis in the Lower Haight back in... November, or December, 1990, and this recording is from very early '93, at the Peacock Lounge, where we played our first ever SF show just over a year or so earlier. This would have been one of the final shows Travis, Greg and I played with Anton before we all left the band for one reason or another (Travis and I going on to start our own thing, The Imajinary Friends) However, this is before we began work on recordings for what would (much) later become Methadrone and Spacegirl a couple of years later. Hearing this now, we are much better than I remember. I miss the original charm of the band (before it became knucklehead central), scrappy as we were, we were strangely untouchable... I can see that more now than I did back then, but I was only a kid. I wasn't even old enough to be in the places we were playing our gigs at. Ha! Some of you were probably at this show! My uncle Ed from the Pushups did our sound that night and we played through his PA. No idea who recorded this, but I know video exists, as does video for every single gig we ever played. An incredible band that came straight out a time machine from the 60's. Effortlessly cool and there sound is so hypnotic. Rock N Roll perfection in every way. If you dont like or get BJM's music I cant understand you at all.
