Important archive, the branch was operated by Westbury and Weymouth train crew. David Shepard wanted to save the line to operate his steam locos but could not get enough support for the project. Westbury driver Phil MARSHMAN made a time lapse film Maiden Newton to Bridgeport in one minute.

Considering it was not more than ten years old, that single DMU was in a very poor condition.

I cannot be exact, but it's thought to be around 1965-66.
