That Mr. Clean jingle regularly goes through my mind, after decades.

And they still use it even now for Magic Erasers and Clean Freak (if only the last three notes)

I wonder if the actress playing Diane went on to portray a homewrecker in another show...

Nope. But before she was on Brighter Day she did play scheming Alice Holden on The Guiding Light. Alice tried to get back at rival Robin Lang who was trying to get Mike Bauer away from Alice. Alice rigged a chair to fall apart and injure Robin, but Alice’s sister in law Kathy stood on it instead and fell. The fall caused Kathy to miscarry and become paralyzed.

As for the Gleem toothpaste commercials, with the way people smoked in those days, the smell of tobacco probably covered the bad breath.

2nd hand smoke, up until the 80s At least kids were allowed to be outside all day It's like, when we stop smoking, kids stayed inside, eating too much and not getting enough sun😣

Those commercials were so long.....or maybe they just seemed so long.
@kennixox2622 жыл бұрын
Because those soap operas had only a few sponsors and more commercial time to peddle their wares. I do believe at some point the FCC mandated a maximum time limit for commercials in the later half of the 1960's.
