This episode soo rocked and was a delight in memory for me. The story beeing, my mom always had all the lights on in the house and outside back in the garage (50s 60s.) BLAZING...Dad said he would come home from work and ask my mother, if she was setting up a landing pad for airports as dad would install and she burned them.. I grew up on projects like this! Thank you so much! I love your channel Wes, and God Bless...

In the beginning of the video your son was hauling his rock truck to a job site. Looking forward to updates on that project! I put LED flood lights on my home after getting tired of replacing 500 watt halogen bulbs and couldn’t be more impressed. It’s a win-win knowing they use MUCH less electricity. Nice job and these will be used during the day more than you might think.

I worked for a small package shipper for 4 Christmas seasons, and one of the things I learned was that when you are shipping "fragile" items, it's recommended to place them well padded in a box, then place that box in another box at least 2" larger in all dimensions. In that way, even if the outer box suffers damage during shipping, the chances of the damage reaching the inner box is really low, and most things will arrive at their destination intact. You do have to put padding of some sort between the two boxes so the inner box doesn't "float" around, but newsprint, packing peanuts or the air filled bags that came in yours does that job pretty well.

Hello Wes. I know it is too late for this, but I found something for future projects or upgrades to current projects. Push-In wire connector to join and insulate 3 wires, use on bare copper wire, Low insertion force for a fast and easy connection, Compact size for easy installation, Clear shell gives visual verification of your connection, Solid wire range: #20 - #12 AWG, stranded wire range: #16 - #12 AWG (less than 19 strand) and #18 AWG (less than 7 strand), Tin bonded stranded wire range: #18 - #14 AWG (less than 19 strand). 100 of these at Lowes are $10.98. IDEAL In-Sure 100-Pack Orange Push-In Wire Connectors Item #540478 Model #30-1033P This is better than wire nuts. I could not put a picture here for a visual. KZbin is putting ads in the middle of your video. I saw three and one at the end before your video closed. Have good days!

Nice! I put florescent lights in my pole barn, 2 rows 4 fixtures each row, and they do work, but it takes a couple minutes to get full light when it's cold. I did put 2 switches in like you were talking about, and had every other light on a switch, and whenever I went in there I automatically turned both on. For me it was a wasted effort

Great lights and function for the shed. Please replace your blue gang box for the switch to a water proof box for the kids sake. Really need to consider a GFI outlet for protection coverage for the shed circuit that can be reset in the shed and not the house. Safety first you always say.I definitely would not leave the wire touching the roof metal also. 👍

I really don't want to be the person who has to tell you this, but you made so many mistakes wiring those lights it was scary. As a retired electrician the blue box you put the switch into in is an indoor box. Those lights should be on a 20-amp circuit, which should be #12 wire. You could use the #10 wire on a 20-amp circuit but not the #14-gauge wire. You can't just splice those wires in the open together. the connections are supposed to be done inside the fixture, that's what the knockouts are for. You have wires that could chafe and short out. As the wind blows those wires will not last. My suggestion to you is to hire an electrician. You are endangering your whole family. Please, I'm not bashing you I just want you to be safe.
@mohamed1104
@mohamed1104 Жыл бұрын
The breaker is a 20 amp breaker in the video. Yeah using the indoor box outside is wrong. Also should have used the knockouts with wire screw clamp connectors in the knockout. You don’t need a 20 amp breaker for lights though. He could definitely use the 14/2 wire he is already using and put in a 15 amp breaker, which is what that wire is rated for. If it was me personally, I would have pulled that 10/2 and a 12/2 (even though they aren’t underground rated and wrong wiring anyways) through the pvc. The 10/2 hooked up to a 20 amp breaker for outlets using 12/2 wiring for the outlets. Then use the 12/2 hooked up to a 15 amp breaker using the 14/2 wiring he already has. Hopefully he makes dedicated circuits for his lights and outlets. GFCI outlet first, for sure when he does wire that, then wire the regular outlets of the first GFCI outlet. If he wanted to be extra careful, he could put a GFCI 15 amp breaker in the panel for the lights. Animals like to chew things. I would obviously use conduit for outside stuff to prevent that in the first place. But not everyone knows how to bend conduit.

I agree with most of what you said. I would have to see a nameplate before I agree those LEDs need a 20 Amp circuit. Mount your Lights flush with the bottom of the roof joists. Bro, you don't have ANY of them mounted or connected correctly. You do need to protect from all that wood dust. I already read that, I know. I'm a 55yo former electrician. I got my Electrical License at 21. That's almost 35 years. I am disabled due to a severe back injury.

You comment ”On KZbin having a lot of electrical videos”…. It may be an idea to look at some and learn even the basics of safe electrical installations. You will see some of the dangerous practices you have done. This is to keep yourself, your family your animals and equipment safer. It needed to be said . Even with you saying your not an electrician others will see the standard and think its OK when it is obviously not.
