An interesting sword and I’ve seen a couple here in Canada. Interesting that when Canadians went to the UK for training for WW1, Canadian troopers turned in their 1882 and 1885/90 swords for the current 1908p. This is why you find these Canadian marked swords in the UK. The QOCH marked 1882 swords are Canadian to the Queens Own Canadian Hussars and incorrectly identified in Martyns sword reference book as Cameron Highlanders. Of course Highlanders never carried cavalry swords.

That's pretty interesting! I've also read the swords used in WW1 by Canadian units were returned to British depots and only sent to Canada after the war as surplus (mostly used by the RCD and GGBG). Cheers!

@@pinswords if the swords were stored well over time, Canadian swords tend to be in very good condition, even the 1796p HC. Most likely the lack of use contributed to their good condition.
