I feel like all his books are pretty much the same. The formula is anyway. A woman, a gun fight, a fist fight. Bad guy(s) die, good guy gets the woman. I think Lamour knew the recipie that paid his bills, and stuck to it. I do enjoy his books tho.

I had a older 3rd cousin I lived with for a while..he was like a old mountain man..he would only read Louis L'Amour books & over & over again. He had a box of paper backs

The Broken Gun was a really, really good book. I have all of Louis L'amour's western books and the Walking Drum, which is a favorite, but I almost didn't listen to this one because it was set in modern times. Louis surely had the talent to write great books and this one was one of the most exciting! Thanks for the pleasure. This is how I spent Thanksgiving day and it was FUN. :)

I enjoyed this tremendously. The Broken Gun is unique in the fact that LL didn’t write many novels set in contemporary times. It makes me wonder if LL encountered something like this in his research.

The Broken Gun. I enjoy your accent and am not offended by your American accent for the characters. I was born and raised in Texas and you get many of the pronunciations right. A few, not so much. The pronunciations on google are not authentic for the South generally, nor Texas particularly. If you want to ask a native, dm me. It might be too much trouble, but I do stand ready. This is not an attempt to generate income. Just a friendly hand.
