The older i get /53 the more i appreciate the old mechanical things. It seems the quality has dropped in most things made today and doesn't compare simplicity and workability to old things.

Nice thorough job on that pump. Brings back memories of using my friends grandmas pump on the farm in Missouri as a child. As a teenager I helped with thier first electric pump install. My best memories are from his grandmas farm.

I'm a plastering contractor, retired 50 years. When you coat your columns, add cement glue to the plaster and brush or roll it on the columns also. Note , the glue is only good for 24 hours. Water from the cement activates is. I know its probably late but for future applications.
@TexasFilipino8 ай бұрын
We have done this entire place. This brand is actually made from white cement not chaulk. This just peeled because the boys back then did not do it correctly and we never primed or painted it due to knowing more work was coming. Thanks for trying to help out

the pump looks awesome great job would it be better to spray the bamboo rather than use a brush
@TexasFilipino8 ай бұрын
We keep it simple here. Basic tools usually. Maybe spraying it is better but that involves now bringing air compessor and cleaning agents for the gun. Getting them to actually clean the gun etc. Now the aerosols are also in the air for them to easily inhale. Just brush , simple , safe no issues.
@rmoitoza18 ай бұрын

Good job, well done. Just a thought, how many strokes of the pump will be required to fill the pool with water? Randy Scott who is married to Presca (20yrs), lovely couple, they live in San Jose. Randy is fellow I wanted to bring over to check out your battery system. I was just informed that they were at the MO2 club last night, Presca had a stroke & is currently in critical condition at the hospital, so if you'd all, say a prayer for her, it would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello James so who is going to be the victim of pumping the water thru the hose attached to the hand pump when Mel wants to water her plants ? You know it is going to happen and the girls will not last long.

We have never connected a hose to it . Melinda is filling pails off the pump right now each day since I refurb'd it. There pressure water hose right near by but we love using that pump

@@TexasFilipino. Really? How deep is it. Up here in Pangasinan. Our old borehole was 120 feet deep( my dear departed, mother in law, had the water tested and passed drinkable!). . But after many decades, it failed! So had a new one done,( by hand!) but only 35 feet. Transferred the old pump( shake , rattle and roll! Lol). Is very noticeable, that after the lack of rain, since last October. It takes a lot more pumping to fill a container ( water table dropped presumably?). Love the rebuild ( the Taj Mahal of hand pumps now!!). Tho, a new one here, can be bought for 3k pesos! Our hand pump is the only source of water by the way! The afore mentioned mother in law, had the place disconnected from the municipal water years ago, was pathetic flow anyway! Lol Regards to all down there, have been getting the occasional much welcome thunderstorm recently, was heat index 50C , here yesterday!!
