Although I fancy myself better than average at the understanding and retention of the form of english these stories are written in, at about 45 minutes into it, the vocabulary, sentence structure, and elements of style become so opaque that I realized that I had no idea what she just said, even to the point of wondering if her first concern has become the display of an elaborate flourish demonstrative of high education rather than simple artistic but efficient communication.
