The "Four Brothers" are not just a music group, they are wise men in life. Their deep singing voices tell us the sadness and helplessness of the departure of loved ones. Their light singing voices tell us that life is like a river, and only memories are left when it merges into the sea.

so good

Memorable song for me.rendered by the Hilltop serenaders during our teenage days.with those handsome on vocation priests to be. but I don't know for heavens sake if they all anointed as priest. but I've heard One of them was , is already a priest, longtime ago. Godbless u all brothers wherever u are.

Greenfields... I liked the melody back in the early 60's. One of my favorites since then. I was so fascinated with lots of American musics ( including of course those of the Ventures). I always enjoyed those melodies and rhythms. Started studying English almost at the same time. Now in 2020 I slowly begin to understand what the lyric says, while I was reading the English subtitles of this clip. The deep and melancholy meaning struck me. I just hope I'm not too old yet to learn something from it.

To me this is one of the best songs ever recorded and no one sings it better than the Brothers Four. That being said, if you feel depressed this IS NOT a song you should listen to. It's beautiful, but very sad.
@jean-luchennebelle18132 жыл бұрын
This song begins gently, then it becomes sad and it ends with à hopefull sentence : "I'll keep on waiting... until you bring it home, to the greenfields and me, once again ". Even "when dark clouds hide the day " there remains hope.
