I'm in the same age group and we had the best music from the 50s all the way up till the 70s. None of it will ever go out of style. I go out dancing all the time and some groups do a little doo-wop, some do rock 'n'roll, some do the blues, some to Motown and all of us know all the words. We're so lucky to have KZbin!

@@joshwestlake5458 - Josh, I was raised in the 50's and I have always appreciated having that sense of identity and stability. We were not perfect, and there were no spare silver spoons to pass around, But our reality felt grounded and durable. And we tried very hard not to throw out the baby with the bathwater. (Also, I couldn't believe how cute I was! ☺ So enjoy your youth while you're young!)

@@CalebAchsah thank you for saying I’m still young. At 34, I don’t feel it sometimes. My dad was my best friend. He was born in 1941 and was very old school. When I was a little girl in the 60's my parents would put "old" country music on the record player. My life has been enriched because of talent like the Three Bells. One of the finest songs I have ever heard! The Browns do in fact own this song, no matter how well others might perform this jewel of an Idea/Song! I truely love these people, their presentation of Hope, and Love being so pristine, so pure! Tears are an apropriate response to hearing this tender, kind song, unless one hates. It tells us that we come into the world, go through the ups and downs of life, we pass on, leaving everything and everyone behind, then I believe, returning one day where we will be reunited with those we knew, in a new world where there will be no more tears , pain and heart-ache. I listen to this song daily (along with MANY others by The Browns) and it always brings a tear to my eye. The Browns music is timeless (and Jim Ed's)..My wish is that this kind of music would make a comeback as it is MUCH better than what we have today!! Thanks for posting and thanks to The Browns for making the music.

Porter greetings! 🇺🇸 My family made 8 track tapes back in the day & this song was on one of those tapes. It was a great song to listen while driving through the country! A bitter / sweet song but lots of good harmony. 🥰😎✌️

My mother played this song for me when I was a very little girl. It was one of her very favorite songs. Over 50 years have past since then and so has my dear mother but this song is still a true blessing for me.

While another Brown has winged her way to Heaven, she and her brother left us with this song of strong community and faith. We need to reignite the flame of Love and Faith in our communites and all of us pray for guidance from above, especially with upcoming elections. Let us not be tempted to hate one another, but deliver us from this evil spirit of hatred and violence that is washing over this land. Let the Bells of the little congregation ring celebrating life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness all over America. May God's love reign down and heal our land.

Enjoying seeing comments, with folks having same feelings as me.... I think I first heard it in 1959 or 1958 when I came back from boot camp. It always reminds me of the little country churches in the area of that Nebraska home, particularly one in a dell in tiny, tiny Arborville Nebraska.

stumbled across this song almost 4 years ago and it gave me so much comfort and peace during my heart surgery. I always wanted to meet this group, but I never did. Rest in peace Mr. Brown for you will never know how much you have helped others.

There are really some things time can not erase. It was during the early 1960’s that me and my mother would sing this song together. She would be sitting beside an old oil heater and she would say”Loun come over here and lets sing this song.My eyes tear up and soon I am crying my heart out.My mother died in 2004.But just a few days before she passes away it was at her request we sing “Little Jimmy Brown together”.We shared some memories together and a few laughs that will live in my mind and heart forever. Our God Jehovah has wonderful things in store and I know I will see her again.A time when “all things are made new. This is our Creators promise and I know it is true.Tears of sadness give way to tears of happiness!!!

You won't find any better singing anywhere. Have you ever thought that it is possible that this song is dedicated to a little child in his family? Jim Ed was young here. I think his facial expressions are sincere. It is so amazing, they have that same awesome quality even in 1999.

I don't know how he can sing a song like this and not get choked up!! I sure couldn't. I'm getting misty sitting on the computer chair with my feet up on the computer desk just listening to it!! Nicely sung. They don't sing 'em like this any more ... SADLY!!!

Two days ago, we put to rest a friend and sister in the Lord. She was a member, one of about 50, in the first church my husband Pastored. 41 years ago. Almost all of the adults have passed away, other than us, I think there is only 6 or 7 still living.

@@wa9kzy326 You can hear the original by Edith Piaf. It is French and called Les Trois Cloche. If you can understand French you'll notice the lyrics are very different reflecting a Roman Catholic influence.

When I was a teenager, my family spent summers at Lake Blaine, Montana. We came from Lethbridge, Alberta. One year this song came out. I still remember listening to it and wanting a record of it. My parents insisted it was just a flash in the pan but they bought it and gave it to me in my Christmas stocking. I have owned it on record, tape, CD and DVD.
