This is quite a crazy gambit, and some games when I felt I needed to play aggressive, I played like this without knowing it's an actual gambit. This gambit also reminds me of black's own gambit called the Traxler counter attack, which does sacrifices the bishop on f2 in the Italian game. Very interesting if you want to make a video on it, and also interesting how openings can be played with reverse colors.

Hi! at 12:42, there is something the White Queen can do: Qxg7+ and taking the Rook.
@tiagojoseazevedoalvares10213 жыл бұрын
I haven't given this a lot of thought, but after Qxg7+, I would go Kc6, and after Qxh8, Qh4+ seems very dangerous for white. Black could also simply defend and answer Qxg7 with Nc6.

I ran into the Jerome Gambit today. And I keep thinking 'what the hell is my opponent doing?' Glad to see Ke6 was the top move, 'cause I found it after a little calculation. I thought it might just be a greedy move. My opponent tried to check me out of existence after, but it wasn't anything scary. I made a few inaccuracies to force mate faster after he finally retreated his queen, but it was an easy win

IMO the variation that goes 6...Kf8 7.Qxe5 d6 8. Qg3 Nf6 9. d3 Nh5! 10. Qf3 Qf6 is better (at least from a practical standpoint) than the Ke6 lines, because it forces the queens off and white has nothing for the piece.

There is another variation of Jerome gambit. White only sacs bishop. Then plays c3, Qb3+ Also, Jerome thingy gets played against sicilian & modern defense. These jeromes are really tricky to face in bullet & blitz... 😱

If black plays bishop e7 instead of bishop c5 in response to italian, then the jerome wins in checkmate after checking with knight and pawn d4 you can mate with queen and dark bishop.
@@julianoplok2675 I think the line that black plays is called the Hungarian defense.
@wepe924 жыл бұрын
Why would black play 6...Ke6? Just play Ng6 & black is fine. If white plays pawn d4, black simply plays pawn d6 to open light bishop. White just lost a knight & bishop for nothing. 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Be7 4. Bxf7+ Kxf7 5. Kxe5+ Kxe5 6. Qh5+ Ng6 7. d4 d6 8. Qd5+ Be6

After bishop c4 who plays bishop c5? In the beginning of the video I thought it was black's turn and there is no way that Black moves any other pieces than Knight h6 but then he played Bc5, so of course white has an advantage then. But again 3:28 : Black will go for Ke6, like that he can protect his Knight as well.

Bc5 is theory in the italian, and also the best move by the engine, don't know where you got this 3...Nh6 Idea from
