I love that they aren’t just “creepy spider monsters”. I mean they are that too, but also a civilization of great builders and scholars and ancient kings. Yeah, I’d love to see them again. The Pits of Narjun area quest chains were too dang cool. I just hope if we really do have a chance to get playable nerubians because of this that they’ll look like they should, instead of being an entirely new and made up version of the nerubians.. Just like how everyone wanted existing playable dragon forms, rather than the Dracthyr.
@shadow_ow210 ай бұрын
@@thelittlestgiant I don't think an actual playable Dragon form would have been possible; if they did do that I think it would have looked very stupid and out of place. The Dracthyr are the best you could have probably gotten for a Dragon inspired playable race that actually fits in with all the animations and stuff. Also imagine having a literal playable dragon that can't fly in instances. As for the Nerubians I don't see any reason as to why these would have similar problems, although I do think it would look kind of stupid as they'd be the only playable race that didn't primarily stand on two legs, so if they ever decided to do it, I think they would have to also add in more playable races that didn't primarily stand on two legs... Naga for one example.

The nerubians are one of my favourite races. I actually predicted they would appear in the next expansion roughly a month before BlizzCon, citing the grey item from Zaralek and N'Zoth's whispers when we went back in time as proof. I predicted we would go back to Azjol-Nerub as a patch zone, a theory I felt more solidified by the War of the Scaleborn book that was in the Northrend area, and Iridikron's home of Harrowsdeep. I guess I was mainly right, but split in half in a way. Nerubians would be in the next expansion, but not in Northrend. Then it was confirmed we'd be going back to Northrend for The Last Titan. I'm not sure if the nerubians in the war within are going to be the same nerubians that were in northrend. I was under the impression that they'd been there the entire time while the nerubians we know and love fled north before the sundering, because kalimdor was a super massive continent they would not have needed to use tunnels when it would have been faster to travel above ground to flee from the trolls. After the sundering if there were any tunnels they'd likely have been destroyed so its hard to believe they'd still exist for the modern day nerubians to use to head south.

They don't need to make a bipedal model for a race. They can easily ignore the hooves, chitinous legs, and slithering bellies. They don't have to balance them for now. Just open it up for people to try, and for roleplayers, it might bring old players, and bring more new blood in.

Technically, removing the text that says they have been at war with the Arathi for hundreds of years may also mean that the war between the two parties has only recently developed. OK, it's likely that they couldn't stand each other, but as far as I know, the Arathi already have enough to do with the monsters from the lake to intentionally open a second front now is rather unlikely If the Nerubians were really survivors of the War of the Spiders, then it would also be very stupid to start a new war so soon afterwards, especially since they could only have had the bare minimum of resources at their disposal and I rather believe that they were split off from those in Northrend a long time ago

Shadowlands retconned a lot of this lore so it's completely inaccurate. There was no connection between Yog Saron and Nerzhul as Nerzhul was simply working for the jailor against the void. The Lich king didn't admire the Ziggurats or the architecture of the nerubians All of that architecture and ziggurats was taken from the shadowlands. It was just coincidence that it's similar to the nerubians. As just two examples.
@sdrs271310 ай бұрын
It's premature to assume a lot of that. We don't know how the Nerubians broke away from Yogg-Saron, but we do know that Void has attacked the Shadowlands before. It's entirely possible that Maldraxxus played a role in the freeing of the Nerubians in revenge for that Void invasion. It would neatly tie together a lot of plot threads.

I still think this could be one of the changes that are part of the Seasons of Discovery. I mean the shadowy character we see in the game. With the special armor we get. Which wasnt there in the start. You could even see it as a sort of... Time altering thing. BEcause they Nerubians NEVER were in other places on Azeroth.. Only Northrend. We had the Aqir in Silithus.. We had the Klaxxi in Pandaria.. So where did the nerubians come from.. Int he area between the Kalimdor kontinent southern part.. And Pandaria.. Unless.. Time has changed a bit. A small group of Nerubians that didnt matter in the grand scheme, were told to go south. To the place they are now and build their empire. To build their strenght for one day. And that day is now.. In War Within. As it would make sense. Old gods are KNOWN for manipulating timelines. As we see in the story of how Broxigar came to end up in the past.. 10k years ago past. To the War of the ancients. That isnt an alternate timeline thing. But the real timeline. As we know that Broxigar never came back. But. His monument is on Argus. Meaning that the timeline has changed, even for a tiny bit. Maybe that could also be part of the reason why we had the Dawn of the infinites dungeon. As a sort of trick, to force us and the other bronze dragons to focus on those parts.. And not on what a certain Xalathat was doing. As in going back in time. And giving certain commands to the nerubians. "You will die anyway. So go do this".: They did. And now we have them there in War Within. Where things have changed a bit. In the background.. When nobody noticed. Not even the bronze dragons. And now we get the consequences of a small change in timeline. A new nerubian empire. That has had time and help to grow from a smal group on an expedition to Azjkhahet...And created an empire. Over many evolutions. But we will have to wait and see. Will be interesting to see.
