I use this book to teach out of all the time. It’s like the perfect balance of academic accuracy but also Buddhist philosophy. IMO this is the best introduction to the core teachings of Buddhism, it’s not dumbed down but also still remains approachable and well written

I absolutely love that you've read works from eastern religions! I've been learning about Taoism and Buddhism, and your readings line up with that. Please do more!!

This feels like alt explaining and interpreting the lore of a fantasy universe as it pertains to the character of the buhda. I have been told and sort of teached these histories, and related practices, many times but it is only now, under this made up pretense of a "the real buhda" altshiftX video, that I can actually enjoy and internalise the contents. I must have broken something in my head. I've enjoyed this so much Alt. Please consider continuing with further chapters if you have time.

Haha, so I was watching this guy with this crisp and husky voice doing Game of Thrones fake ASOIAF theories and he was featuring in it and I thought huh he really sounds like the guy who makes those GoT videos with white background thumbnails, and NOW I'm hearing the same voice recite buddhist texts. Wait, this is the same guy?

What the Buddha taught was lost in certain ways when women were shut out and a bunch of men went to an island to write it up as they wished while playing a game of telephone. Until women are recognised as equals - voluntarily - by men & women alike - this planet will never know true loving kindness and peace. The Buddha taught ethics as the way out of suffering. Ethics can not be acheived while shutting out one half of the human race through physical and psychological brutality. I think this is finally being recognised - by some at least.

Yourself is your own worst enemy. You feel to much and allow emotions to rule over yourself. Where is the self discipline for the peaceful nature we seek? Where is the humbled nature of self to give instead of trying to take or be on top to be ruler? Why can't we be just the ruler of ourselves? Why does one need so many useless items? What happened to our simple understanding and cooperation with nature? Our greed and lust for power and control truly has driven man to the brink of insanity. How long before the hoard comes to claim souls for their belief in power? Where is the spiritual connection we all should possess. To which master do you really serve?

How do you get around the copyright? This kind of stuff would be flagged and deleted right? Just wondering. I've been wanting to share so many helpful spiritual books I've been reading but have avoided it for that reason
