I am also bullish on the Sabres. I don't get a lot of criticism they got this off-season. Sure, they didn't spend all the way to the cap this off-season, but you can't deny that the difference in their bottom-six is night and day compared to 2023-24.

Their cap situation makes it look like they did nothing but if they spent more then they would have been taking away ice from guys like Peterka and Quinn who are very important pieces for them who need to be playing top 6 minutes

@@cheddarandsourcream Agreed, and getting UFA guys to sign would probably require term which would tie up the Sabres when they do need to sign those young guys to long term deals.

That Laine hit looked awful. I have less than 0 rooting interest in the Habs but I genuinely felt bad for Laine’s hopes for a fresh start.
