The AiW tune grants you a good advantage that's for sure (i use it), but the flex perk is still better. What is good using AiW is that you can have a free perk slot to use something else, and you have a better audio even when you don't have you loadout. Nevertheless, it's ridiculous that we need to "cheat" for a better audio that should be implemented by the devs...

Biggest issue with audio is hearing an air strike across the map and can’t hear anything but that air strike but my enemy doesn’t hear it and can perfectly hear me 😢

Art is war that he's talking about is an EQ tuning, similar to what people do using Dolby Atmos, THQ or Sonos with adjusting the db gains of different sounds frequencies. Not altering the sound file, but it's applying a filter to the sound. Pretty common practice to tune for your specific headphones in the audio space, but this instance is a general tune for the game. Same argument of using an audio tune/filter can be made for applying a color filter with gpu software or monitor.

What Art walks through is how to create a virtual filter for the game, so it doesn't apply to all audio on your PC. Otherwise, you can do it for all audio on your PC, but you wouldn't necessarily want the same EQ settings for watching movies compared to the game.

I tried the AiW tuning. In undoubtably gives you an advantage. But it also made the overall gaming experience far worse. The sound wasn’t immersive which just made it feel really corny. I tried them for a week or two but ended up turning them off. I don’t need to min/max my performance that hard. I’d rather just have the normal game mix to have it sound like good old fashioned COD

interesting, cause lately Strahfe has been openly using ArtisWar. I guess it's because the audio can be frustrating on Rebirth, especially if you're playing solo-quads. You can actually hear the ArtisWar tuning in his videos

Meta talks about it in this vid lol, the manipulation that ArtIsWar causes is so much more drastic than that of a higher quality headset it’s silly to compare it to something like custom response curves. Sure it’s an “equalizer” which can entirely remove audio clutter from the game.

Why would he. Nobody gets banned for it and everyone playing competitively on PC uses it or hides the fact that they do lol. Maybe COD will figure out how to fix their jank a$$ in game audio on their 5th battle royal so people don’t have to resort to 3rd party audio software to actually hear important audio instead of air strikes blasting your ear drums every game.

@@jeffbones2802 tbh I think the audio is good with good headphones, I have some £70 senheiser cans from Argos, and they good, when I play solos the footstep audio is almost too loud. The sound of the planes overhead is purposefully added for added stealth if you want to move unheard... It's only annoying if you can't thrive in the chaos. It sounds like metaphor is explicitly condemning artiswar at one point, and I thought he used it, sooo that's kinda hypocritical, but he's not that stupid so I'm wondering if he's changed his setup, his play style seems different here also

I have 1k sound setup (Sennheiser HD 599, SCHITT Audio Asgard 2) and I still have to use Sound EQ etc just goes to show how bad the audio is in this game. Legit question, im not trolling. Im with you that the audio hack is trash. But why do you play with someone like Zlaner that uses it? You barely hear his shots or steps, he has it for sure 100%. I dont think Z hacks but he DOES use Art sound hacks. Do you feel that by playing with people that use it, you unironically endorse it or atleats give it a "pass" or you feel its not that big of a deal. Interested to know your stance on it.
