I can't believe I found this. I remembered the Bugaloos from when I was a small kid. When I got older and worked at different jobs, every now and then conversations would come up about old shows. Back in 1971, I was just 7 years old. On NBC, after the peacock, The Bugaloos flew into my TV like crazy!! Back about 15 or 20 years ago, cable TVs The Family Channel, aired The Bugaloos' episodes. Oh how I miss them. Hooray for 20th century TV forever!! Although, the show was produced by Sid & Marty Krofft television and NOT by 20th Century Fox. I still have a crush on Caroline (Joy) Ellis! The other three were very good too.

This is by far my favorite Krofft show, I love The Senses Of Our World and think it is marvelous song. My dad grew up in the late 60's and 70's and was six when it first aired on television he had a huge crush on Caroline Ellis (Joy) My dad's younger sisters watched this show too as did my mother's four younger siblings. I was born 23 years after it aired and was first introduced to this and HR Pufnstuf, as a small kid. I think this a wonderful show for everyone kids and adults. I had a crush on all the boy Bugaloos and the girl (Joy) was very beautiful. Sparky (The firefly bug) was about the only character in this show who I could relate to Too bad, The Bugaloos didn't get a second season or a third but I guess it was fate! I will always love this show "So take the time to taste the honey, in a summer breeze"

Bugaloosfan I watched it when I was 6 when it first was on NBC in 1970 and for most of the kids I used to know, this was the show to watch. Reruns ran as late as 1974 and I never missed an episode watching them over and over again. I had a crush on Caroline Ellis when I was little and when I'm now an adult watching it, she looks so pretty. She looks better today than most women because she takes care of herself.

See a lot of comments from people speculating if they saw this show. It's quite possible many missed it if they weren't out of bed when it was originally on. It's also possible it was background footage. I was in the womb when it first aired and only a toddler when it ended. However it was the 70's and that meant floor tv's and babies in plastic cages in front of the tube. It also repeated although I'm not sure where. One source for info on when it first aired is wikipedia search network tv programming Saturday. You can see all the shows that played and perhaps determine if you were more likely to have watched something else.

@jhillst I've run into people asking if Disney's _Fantasia_ was created under the influence of LSD. Considering the chemical hadn't even been invented when _Fantasia_ came out... Now, I have no idea if Sid and Marty did any drugs at all. For all I know, they might not have even drank, smoked, or drank coffee. Or they could've been dropping every weekend; I don't know. But I don't think it's unreasonable, considering the content of some of these shows and... durned character limit

Why does everyone assume the Kroffts were on drugs? Some people are just naturally creative. Besides, it would be pretty difficult to work as hard as they did if they were on acid all the time.
@jhillst13 жыл бұрын
@webshaft I didn't think it was an insult necessarily, it's just a cliché. It seems any time people see or hear a work of art that's remotely bizarre or eccentric, they assume it was done under the influence of drugs. The Kroffts, Dr. Seuss, Jim Henson, Roger Waters, Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel etc. have all been accused of using drugs to inspire their creativity, and none of them did.
