As Minecraft Kid says so well, you are perfection. I discover your channel and it's magic for the eyes, so much passion for this work just makes you want to do the same. really respect, the word is weak ..... you have to invent the word that goes with the passion you give to your work

Very nice. Where did you get the vise hardware from?
Beautiful work. I just watched the build for your workshop, i would be interested in a video about wood working techniques, tools and styles from your part of the world. Im sure others would be too, just something to think about if you run out of video ideas in the future. Keep up the good work my friend.

Hi, i am new to carpentry and i am planning to build a Moxon vice. There is any reason for the treaded rod to be sticking out in the front instead of sticking out of the back? Could you fix the handles to the rod and spin them all together to tighten the vise?
@TheWoodCrafter13 жыл бұрын
Hello Cristian and welcome to the lovely woodworking world 🤝 About your question, the old Moxon vise design was similar to the one you have described, however modern Moxon vise designs have a Moxon with cast iron hand wheels for rapid and easy movement. However, Instead of the handwheel turning the screws and having to work under the weight of the moveable jaw, the new design fixes the screws to the vise itself (they don’t move) and tapped the handwheels, allowing them to move in and out on the rigid screws.The mass of the cast iron and the polished acme threads allows the handwheels to spin freely and do the work of drawing the jaws together effort- lessly. If you use the old design that fixes the wheel to the threaded rod you will not be able to spin the wheel that fast for rapid gripping. Hope this will help you decide. My 2 cents 🙂

Another precise build, very well done. I was wondering what was different about your timber, then I realised, I haven’t seen a single knot in any you used! What timber is that?
@TheWoodCrafter13 жыл бұрын
Thx Michael, The one used for the Moxon vise was hard maple, and for the front jaw was the cherry wood! cherry wood usually has knots but I tried to avoid them as much as I could especially for a vise. hope this helps.
