I feel bad for Cloud's opponents, but it's not like he's maliciously smurfing (that is, smurfing for the sake of bullying new players because they can't win at their actual level), it just so happens he had to migrate to a new platform where he can't carry over his progress and start from scratch. Hopefully the mass exodus of PS4 players moving to PC for the rollback won't discourage too many new players from continuing the game.

And the ranking system is not a fault either. It is connecting players with decently "close" ranks. But how can you figure out the skill level beyond just rank points? Transferring progress between platforms would have been ideal, but it is way too late in this game's life to implement these features and get a good ROI. Rollback itself being implemented was a miracle imo

@@introvertidiot1502 Yeah, that's true. The ranked system is doing the job it was designed to, but it has its own holes in the system which is just what it is. Cloud mentioned something about a hidden MMR, like if you're on a huge winstreak in ranked or even casual, it can look for opponents in a higher level. Alternatively, instead of the pre-set "About the same" and "Challenge" settings, I wish we could just kinda pick the max and min ranks we're willing to fight. Of course, there'll be some limits to the settings, like obviously your max preferred ranked can't be lower than your own. Your min can go as low as Saibaman, sure, but if actual Saibaman rank players set their preferred max to below yours, you'll never match with them. This way, players like Cloud can just set their minimum rank to say Angel and max Zen-Oh even as a Saibaman so that he's free to fight people in a higher skill bracket and avoid the pool of genuine beginners.

can someone tell me what their preferences are when searching for rank, i see so many players by the online section but i barely get any rank matches. or it takes like almost 30 min even in a full lobby. switching servers also barely helps even if the lobbies are stacked

Brother, I have never experienced such dogshit matchmaking on fighterz. I cant find a single match, like it took me about 40 minutes to find an opponent only for him to be ssgss rank. Also, you get kicked out of the lobby for no reason and your game crashes mid round. They need to fix ts asap
