I have come to believe that Apostle Paul learned the truth of Genesis 50:20 at some point in his own studies of the scriptures. Then he shared that truth with New Testament believers in Romans 8:28. Thank you Pastor David for sharing your Genesis study with all of us.

I love what you said about the fact that Jacob's sons often opposed him while alive but were careful to honour him in death...Am I right to say that the reason for that could either be (1) his sons had truly repented or (2) they were only following the leading of Joseph who was going to honour his Father anyways.

I believe the brothers made that story up also. I believe if it were true, Jacob himself would have said it to Joseph. I also don’t think Jacob was ever told what really happened. I wish we’d known the conversation that took place between Jacob and Joseph when they reunited. You know Jacob had to have asked what happened and how did Joseph end up in Egypt. But I believe if he’d known what the brothers did, would have been mentioned when he passed out blessings on his death bed.
