She did what she had to do. RIP Francine Hughes Wilson.

Sounds like you may have known her.

Yes, I remember the movie. The following is my opinion….. Although I believe no one should ever harm another human being, I also believe that in certain situations, if they don’t give you a choice, you have to do what you have to do to protect yourself, your children and animals. Even after they divorced, he hunted her down and would beat her anytime at will. This was back in the day when the “law” really didn’t protect victims of abuse. I think she had called the police during the worst beating she got and they refused to help. They drove away even though he threatened to kill her. She knew he would never stop and would one day kill her. My guess is even if she could move to the other side of the world, he would hunt her down and kill her. My opinion? She didn’t have a choice. So sad for her.

The Burning Bed was an excellent movie depicting what MANY women endure. I applaud Francine Hughes for her bravery and courage. There was never going to be a way to get away from that monster alive. She had .children to think about & protect and did what she had to do. GOD bless you, Francine!! I am so glad you got out alive and that the demon is gone. Blessings and Peace❤

This woman and Tracy Thurman are the reason domestic violence was finally recognized! Before that it was a family issue no one else’s business

Cool video. You should do a follow- up and find Francine' s grave.

I plan on doing another video on other locations that she lived at in Jackson Michigan. I know where she would run to hide in Jackson from Mickey and I have the positive location of where the house once was.

That's cool you can do that. I just found out she was cremated, so no grave to visit. Sorry, didn't know that.. excellent video, regardless!

I read a report that Donovan Hughes killed himself. According to his other brother, Dexter, he couldn't handle Mickey's death.

This is what I have heard also. It is so sad. Francines son Dana contacted me and he said the same thing. His phone has since been disconnected but I am hoping to hear from him again.

I often wondered what Mickey looked like. As far as I know there aren't any confirmed photos of him online.

Justifiable. Have I ran into some rude women yes most of my life but this right here I don't see how you can do that to a person justifiable, you get done worse for Less in the streets

What the hell are you babbling about, you are making no sense, and further more you know nothing about domestic violence, and domestic imprisonment or what it does to the kids of domestic violence, I am a child of this abuse, by my real father trying to kill me, my sisters and my mom, and I was going to kill my father because I couldn't take the abuse anymore, because I got raped and eating disorders destroyed my life and almost killed me at 18 I am now 52 with eating disorders and post-traumatic stress, so don't tell any domestic abuse of survivor what they should have done, or whether it's right or wrong and mind your own business, you probably are a domestic abuser man, you sure sound like an idiot though.
