I dig this satchel, I’ve used it as my carry-on bag on two different trips to Europe and it worked great. Also, I’d like to see your Bushcraft load out with this bag, I’m always looking new ideas. Thanks.

I've had one of these bags for almost as long as you have. It holds lots of stuff. Great bag.

Thanks for giving us a good & in depth look at this bag, bro! I’ve always been interested in this one, but I’ve shied away from it because of the size. If you’re ever interested in the other Helikon haversacks (the “claymore” and “bushcraft haversack”) let me know - I’d be happy to send you some videos of them to give you an idea of size and whatnot.

I dig their haversack, but I think in just dancing around this one it's pretty big but when you toss u a couple snacks and a bag of freeze dried viddles it's not really that big considering what's in it

@@bushcraftkelso2013 that's a great point about adding food to a haversack...Most haversacks will hold your kit just fine. But there's little to no room left over for food. I bet this bag shines in that area!

Thank you for your thoughts on the satchel. I have a reusable space blanket that I sit on under my tarp. It normally comes out last, so I may start using it to shape out the bottom of my bag. Brilliant ideas as normal Kelso. However it’s almost 4am here in the UK and I can’t stop thinking about taking a full size blow torch with me into the woods. Thanks to you, we now know it will fit in the bag…

Decent overview. I've had one for just over a year, put some foam/sit mat behind the mesh pocket. Good size for underseat on planes. Thanks 👍

I put a 4" wide piece of leather in the bottom of mine and a piece in the zippered pocket to help stiffin it up a bit. I sewed some velcro on the leather to attach a maxpedition universal edc holster in. (Im still not crazy about it)

That pad did it right for me. I never even take it out just rides in there. But it solved that floppy bit for me

That is one good bag. I have that in black. I keep a folded sitting pad in that side pocket. And inside into those pockets both fit 1 liter Nalgene bottle and a Grayl water filter bottle too. I have carried a Savotta sleeping pad under it. And a hatchet with a folding saw. Great bag I have to say. Edit. To you Americans. By 1 liter bottle I mean 32 oz bottle...

You're tinkering* (I edited from playing, sounded crass, and not the tone I was going for) around with your "Polish," bag, and I'm rather fond of using/working with my military surplus Polish bread bag, now known as my Badger Bag - because of the pelt on it.

Have you seen CTactical bags. They are a Vietnamese company. I picked up one of there 10 liter backpack/slingbag. It's bombproof. Might be a good one to check out for your yearly test.

Thats a great bag but for me, I cant put my finger on it, its almost too big, or wide across the bottom maybe?

wow... all those loose threads... shows the nylon coating degrading not something I'd buy & I was considering it...
@bushcraftkelso201318 күн бұрын
It's just from use, I'm not really worried about it. If you only have a few loose threads after years of use that's a win for a $50 bag IMO
