Beautiful is all i can say, you really know how to get the most out of your Canon 6d Mark ii. You put many of the naysayers to shame. Its all about real world experience and what you are actually creating. To be able to take the viewer to an entirely new world with your equipment is something i look for the most. You've done this masterfully. Great Job Marti.

Marti Artisan well said Marti, I think we get so caught up in features that we tend to forget about the story and creation. Especially when back in the day these cameras have way more technology than their ancestors & those movies 🎥 were still phenomenal because of the thought behind the production.

Isaac Tawiah Thanks for the kind words. This short film was shot in manual mode, 1080 at 60fps and a shutter speed of 1/125. Slowed down 40% in post. Color profile was James Miller Clog3. As someone who is aiming to get better at filmmaking. Would this be a great first full frame camera for filmmaking until I can really afford what I want? Also, does having great lens with low F stop be the key to getting good quality image?
@MartiArtisan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. I would say this is a good camera but has its limitations. For filmmaking it doesn’t have all the “filmmaking” features but does the job. Not sure your budget but maybe looking into the eos R or R6. The quality of lens is more important then the camera in my opinion. Lower the f stop will give you more depth of field which would lead to a more cinematic look.
@dawannaconner70432 жыл бұрын
@@MartiArtisan hey, yes I'm have decide to go with the R6. Figuared I'll spend the extra bucks to get the best quality I can get and that I can use for long term until it time for the next upgrade. Thank you for your response. Truly appreciate it

Hi man! It's nice to meet you andI found your cinematic series very interisting. I own a 6dMKii and I would like to go deeper to practise videomaking. have you got any advice for a beginner with this gear?Thank you!
@MartiArtisan4 жыл бұрын
DTK Photography My biggest advice would be to continue to practice and grow your knowledge as much as possible. It’s all trial and error in the beginning! Utilize KZbin tutorials for information about filmmaking, editing, and color grading. As far as camera settings go, 24fps is going to give you the cinematic look and 60fps can be utilized for slow motion. Shooting in a flat picture profile will give you the most room for color grading and increased dynamic range. Try to keep the iso between 100-400 for the cleanest image possible. Ultimately when making short films it comes down to the story and the message your trying to convey. Decent audio and sound effects will back this up and are almost more important than the music in the short film. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Lol seeing that you have experience with it already.... is it a good choice. I’m more into photography than videography.... awaiting your comment!
@MartiArtisan6 жыл бұрын
Cornelius Jeffers awesome! This camera is super easy to use and the flip out screen has come in handy so many times. I would say this camera is primarily designed for photos, but it has the feature of shooting video. As far as shooting weddings/portraits I would say this is a great camera for photography. It isn’t the sharpest and doesn’t have the best of features when it comes to the video side of things. Since photography is your main focus, no pun intended, I think this will suit your needs! The colors are very natural and skin tones look great! Also if you shoot in raw their is a lot of room to color grade. You can check out some of my photos on Instagram @martiartisan. Hope this helps!

Do you recommend the Canon 6D Mark ii for filmmaking?
@MartiArtisan5 жыл бұрын
ELIZABETH I really like the ease of use of the 6d mark ii. The pros of this camera is full frame, flip out screen, great autofocus, and color science. For filmmaking it depends on what you do. If it is for personal projects/KZbin I think it is a great option. For commercial projects it seems a little limited on features and image quality when compared to newer cameras that offer variable frame rates, 4K, wave forms, etc.
