Some years ago I changed the DLR lights of my 2012 SS to led lights and they are so bright, its awsome. They came with the harness to delete the DRL function and leave them as fog lights but decided not to install it for one reason: they are so bright that if you keep them on at night it will bother oncaming traffic massively and I don´t think that is the right thing to do to fellow drivers. I hate when you cross someone at night that is using bright led lights, is annoying and is also dangerous. Tthat´s why I use mines only as DLR, out of respect for them and for safety reasons.

07' Tacoma 2wd. After doing a 3" suspension lift front and add a leaf 2.5" lift in the rear I had a shuddering vibration from a stop till about 20-30mph, it still exists at higher speeds but not as noticable. It's due to the angle of the u-joint. I used this old man emu kit and 90% of the vibration is gone, possibly all hard to tell. Thanks! much easier install than doing the shims in the rear.

I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma SR5 extended cab V6 automatic. I had the driveshaft balanced, new carrier bearing and U-joints. Still vibrates at 50mph to 75mph? This damn truck is driving me bananas! Do you find that you are coming up against your payload capacity with this camper? I've got a crewmax tundra with a 1300 payload capacity and the camper I'm getting is close to 1,100. I'm going to remove the tailgate to cut some weight but just curious if you have had any problems
@MartiArtisan
@MartiArtisan Жыл бұрын
Honestly haven’t noticed any issues. I did add some air bags in the rear to help with the weight. The biggest thing I noticed is braking capabilities, upgraded brakes in the future are ideal especially if your in varying terrain with steep declines

@@MartiArtisanthe question is about being over your payload limit. I would guess you most definitely are. And airbags do not add extra payload. They actually reduce payload because of the weight of the airbag system.

Hello there! planning to do the same setup in my car, possible to shoot how the base looks like? how did you fix it in the floor of the cargo space? appreciated!
@MartiArtisan
@MartiArtisan Жыл бұрын
I don’t have photos of the base. I basically just cut out a piece of plywood that fits the floor of the fj. Bolted it down to the factory mounting locations and carpeted it. After that I bolted the drawers to the wood. Overall very cost effective and simple process. Makes it easy to go back to factory without drilling unnecessary holes

I like this camper but here in AZ I don't know how I would use it for half the year with no A/C. Has anyone heard of any solution for A/C in these units? I forget what truck camper I saw but it had the Autoclima Fresco 9000 MaXX which is a 12V mini split A/C system. I thought it might be a good solution for this camper. Thoughts?

I definitely can get warm in the camper even with the windows open. In the northwest the hot days are pretty limited. The ones that have used an ac in the these campers seem to be trying out the zero breeze ac unit with good results
