Your one amazing owner operator and a pleasure to see you running your business and dealing with the peaks and valleys in all businesses. Even if you don't add another single truck..you are a success and your kids will cherish what you have built. Investing in your techs is an excellent idea and will greatly increase their skill sets. I feel great joy in your success and your hard work ethic is truly impressive. It can easily be said of the Gentry and Son legacy nobody's given you anything but you earned it from the sweat of your brow..just as it's written in the old testament. Continued prayers for you and your family for much success going forward.😇🙏🇺🇸👌⛄🎄

I'm always impressed with your drive, attitude & your attention to detail on your entire operation. I think you'd get your money back sending 1 or 2 techs to a real mechanic teaching school. It'll release you of some of the burden you should be able to delegate.

Tim, your commitment to your business is something every aspiring business owner should model their own business with because you live, breathe, sweat and bleed your passion for what you want your business to be. I have to say you are one of the very few people I look up to for where I want my own business I run to be. It hasn't been easy I'll tell you, but I like how positive you are in good times and bad times which makes you a good boss for people to work under because you know how to keep moral strong and when to send your guys to improve on their craft. Don't change what you're doing because you've got the right values and morals which breed success.

Some of the best money you will ever spend is sending a couple of good guys to school. Yes you will spend a little but you will gain something special. The guys will get more confidence and show leadership to others. It will reflect in your trucks. Great stuff Tim

If you send guys to school, you are investing in them. Anyone who you send to school should be made to sign a contract. It dictates that,in the event of them quitting before a certain amount of time, or they wind up being terminated for cause, during that time period, They’re required to immediately repay the cost of the school. You don’t want someone taking advantage of the schooling and leaving you out of pocket the expense, without you getting any benefits.

@@rodleypumpkins4174 The current crop of 20 something’s I have dealt with seem to have little drive, want to text instead of just speaking and wouldn’t have won WW-2. You have to hold their feet to the fire with expectations. If they don’t live up to them, you have to terminate them. You don’t have time for lethargy or malingering on the job.

Tim you have a great attitude, employers like you are far and few between, I spent my life in the mechanical field 40+ years. I worked for and with a lot of good and bad people, but you always remember the good over bad. Buying all the tooling to work on a wide range of equipment is a big investment, some employers don't seem to appreciate that level of commitment when it isn't coming from their pocket. It's not often you come across someone like you with your level of understanding and appreciation for the people working for you, keep forging ahead and best of luck to you, family and friends.

Hi Tim. This is old school from an old retired truck tech. If you put it through just one heat cycle and re-torque all of the bolts it might be a more successful job. If I’m to late and it’s on the road, take the very first opportunity to do this. Great work and I’m a strong fan.

Hey Tim, I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job or anything but I know a guy who pulled a cattle pot, and he always left his gates a stairs down while he was empty driving down the road, and it actually left dents and holes inside the trailer after a few months of having the trailer. So If I was you I would defiantly close all the gates up whenever you're done unloading. Again not trying to tell you how to do your job, just trying to get you aware man.

I remember a time when if you borrowed a mechanic's tool you had to sign your life away, your wife, your car, your house, and your credit cards on the promise you would return the tool, and put it back in the proper drawer, and tool location, and for it to be cleaner than you borrowed it. man the mechanics loved their tools, and they were gleaming bright chrome, but also made it really nice to borrow tools. yeah sending mechanics on a refresher course will help improve the quality of work, maybe doing it as a group thing would help with team spirit as well.

Shit happens, I always run a tap in the head bolts on the block when I do a head. I learned the hard way just like you. I totally get it. I had, in 1978 a Bedford, GMC TM Bedford 500 turbo engine also known as the 8.2 Blue, a Detroit Diesel two-stroke V8 with a Spicer transmission, and a SOMA rear axle (dropped after the 1982 facelift).[2][4] The Detroit engine was not a successful choice in the UK. Because of its high-revving characteristics, it proved unpopular with drivers, who were used to slow revving, long stroke, UK diesels. It was also disliked by operators because of its poor fuel economy.[3][5] I used to do UK to Pakistan in the 70s and 80s, I loved the sound of that 2 stroke but it used to drink diesel like it was a alcoholic but it left everything else in its smoke I remember I broke down in Germany with 34 ton of steel on, it blew the waste gate and then the turbo and picked up a liner. I hunted round and got a bar and extended airlines and that detroit pulled two trailers loaded with 68 tonnes of steel on it and the volvo f12 all the way from the German border to Sutterton in the UK and it never missed a beat it went like it had a fire up it arse, looking back it was the good old days but then it seemed like a nightmare.
