I agree it really should have highlighted her faith more. She did encourage her sisters to pray . My hope is that more people who would have never watched such a movie about a Catholic nun or Catholic Saint would seek to learn more and see how it was only by Faith and love of Christ fueled by prayer that she became an agent of change. I thought of Jesus talking about the shrewdness of His generation. Also The letters that the pope shared with her from the immigrants made me think of God calling Moses. God saw her desire to serve and sent her where she was needed most. I pray it sews good seeds that bear fruit for Christ!

Cabrini did have feminist moments to it. It wasn't the principal message of the film but it is there when you know how to spot it. I doubt Mother Cabrini had the exact same disposition as Angel Studios' Cabrini, it felt it had modern elements to it because of that Feminist element. I've seen a fair share of classic Catholic films made in the first half of the 20th century (from different languages) and those portrayals of the saints do capture their real essence; so wholesome and charming from those classic films that contemporary films can't capture. All that said, Cabrini (2024) is still far better than the garbage mainstream media is vomiting.

Maybe because it actually happened. No books about her mentions how she barged in on the senate house in Italy, but it actually happened and accounted by Italian historians as well as nuns from her region who pass on stories generation after generation. Why wasnt that true fact included in books? Because they viewed that as a radical and aggressive behavior that would undo all her other virtues as a Catholic women. They forget that St. Catherine of Siena wrote to the Pope which he said was with authoritative tone. When Cabrini walked in on them, I didnt see Cabrini, a woman, or an immigrant, I saw Gods righteous anger using her as a vessel, with such conviction in her voice, to make the mission possible. God makes anything possible through anyone He wants, to assume God only wants to grant men the privilege to perform miracles, evangelize, and heal communities, you are putting God in a box and only wants half the worlds population to do half His work. He will use whoever, however, wherever, whenever God wants at full capacity because there is so much work to do, so why would God only wants to assign heacy lifting to just men? Time after time, God shows us women have been just as capable

I saw the movie in theaters I thought it was a little feminist leaning, especially at the end of the movie when they make her say that “you could never do what women can” and then about half the audience mostly women started screeching like harpies “you go girl” etc and just the over abundance of girl boss mentality and “we can do it by our own willpower” and “women can do anything plus more than a man can” was just nauseating I could barely overlook it to focus on this beautiful Saint follower of Jesus.

What are you even saying, the whole redpill movement is rotting your brains. Cabrini is a wonderful role model for women. She wasn’t dancing naked or promoting going to club lifestyle or alcohol etc. I don’t know how you can see this as negative when all she did was try to help the poor and promote a christian lifestyle. If one thing she is following what Christ would’ve wanted us to do. Not everything has to be conspiracy theories. Be positive.

@@tedburns3089 What is your meaning of feminism? Because im not talking about modern feminism where women push this idea that selling their bodies for money or drinking, sleeping around etc is “empowering”. Im talking about the times where women used to get beaten up by their husbands, many times to death, where women used to be forced to get married to men they didn’t like, where men were allowed to rape women and nothing would happen to them. This is when Feminism became a thing, they were telling women that they had to agree to be “abused” because the man is the one who works and brings money. This is why women wanted to work instead to not be forced in abusive relationships. Back then feminists never said they want to BE men, they just wanted to be respected as human beings. And sadly it didn’t work until women started working. Now going back to the movie topic, first, how can you give an opinion on the way a character is portrayed if you didn’t even watch the movie? Second, how is it wrong for her to have ambition to help people and wanting for more people to follow Christ? Third, what do u truly want from women? Im genuinely confused because the woman was fully covered, shes respectful, doesnt curse, helped orphans, teaches to italian immigrants to assimilate to society, she doesnt push women to be promiscuous, etc Tell me right now what is the thing that the character Cabrini did that was SO wrong to the point you think we should call it out? Honestly, im not liberal or pro modern feminism but i dont blame some feminists today when i see how even in a movie where the woman follows every single rule of Christ and more, us women still get bashed and its still “not enough”. Its really exhausting.

I think as a Catholic going into watching the movie already kind of understand Cabrinis heart, the fact that Christ supposedly wasn’t in it and they didn’t show her deep interior life just went over my head. I know her actions were done out of love for the Lord. There was a scene where I genuinely thought they were gonna showcase her faith… the scene where the archbishop basidally tells her it’s over, pack your bags and be on your way to Italy. They were in the sanctuary and I thought once he left, they should’ve had her kneel down on the pew and cry/say a prayer or something. That would’ve been beautiful… but overall, it was very good and very obviously Catholic…

Could not a FEW 10 second Devine moments peppered throughout, to give honor to her devotion to Jesus and His guidance throughout her mission. SHE IS A CATHOLIC SAINT!!! You don’t become a saint by being a tenacious feminist, emasculating men. In all things give Glory to God. She did, this movie did not mention it one time. I listened to a review of a non Catholic and even he noticed this. This movie should receive an Oscar(s) for its superb cinematography and acting. I watched the whole movie and it was not as feminist as I thought or made out to be. Feminism is a vice of pride and a movement in which women try to become like men of the world, in the name equality. They trade the gift of motherhood and authentic femininity for worldly ambitions instead of true virtue. Mother Cabrini however was zealous for love the poor, and thus Christ, who is found in the poor and in our neighbors. Mother Cabrini is portrayed as strong-willed woman and willing to fight back. I'm not sure if what the actual St. Cabrini is like but I don't think that's exactly feminism, especially since saints like Catherine of Alexandria has fought the world.

It’s just Catholic enough to market itself as Catholic but, it’s not Catholic enough to offend “our separated brethren”. Mother Cabrini is shown as being just like most V2 priests - a social worker in a habit. I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised that a Mormon-owned studio produced a film about a Catholic saint devoid of Catholicism.

I appreciated your video. I should note, however, that I am a flaming liberal, no longer living in the US, and you are an American conservative, bordering on Christian nationalist. American is NOT liberal certainly not any longer, and I am 76, and I don't think it has been in my lifetime. But I was named for Mother Cabrini, so I really want to see the movie, but have to wait until it streams. I was born two years after she was canonized so you can imagine I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I agree the controversy is tragic, as is so much of the divisiveness in the US today. But corporal works of mercy extend to immigrants whether they are legal or illegal. Do you honestly believe that if Jesus were here today, he would say that they DON'T apply to illegal immigrants? If Mother Cabrini were here today, do you honestly think she would condemn the illegal immigrants? NO, she would condemn a system that doesn't allow them entry with the means to ease their entry. The US is the same size as China, but with less than 1/3 the population, and there is plenty of space in China (I have been there). My grandparents would have been among the Italian immigrants that Mother Cabrini served. My great-grandfather was illiterate as was my grandfather, my other grandparents hardly every spoke English, certainly not at home. And now many of their grandchildren are arch conservatives against immigration. I don't get it. God will judge us for the insane way we are handling the Texas border, and I say that to Democrats and Republicans. I am still a strong believer in Jesus Christ, the Trinity, and the gospel. I am a Seventh Day Adventist, which is probably the only Christian religion today in American that is more liberal than conservative, for a good reason. Matthew 25:31-46, among many other verses, including Isaiah 58. I was a Catholic for 55 years. In my opinion, and it isn't just mine, American conservatism will take America down, and it has already started. And it won't be because of immigrants. But thank you for the video. It gives me arguments for my adult children who saw Sound of Freedom as propagranda for QAnon, which Jim Caviziel's public statements led anyone to believe it was, tragically since child sex trafficking is a truly global horror.

And, lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church." -Father Enright, American Sentinal, June 1893. 7th day Sabbath = (Exo.20:8-11) 1st day Sunday = (Mark 7:7) The WORD teaches 7th day is holy! The WORLD teaches 1st day is holy! 🤔WHO DO YOU OBEY????????

Colossians 2:16-17 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Yes thats what we are doing. We are bound by the spirit of the law. Which is to keep the day of sabbath holy. Yes in the old testament it is saturday. But when the Lord rose from the dead something new happened, something changed and the new covenant was established and our veiw of the commandments were fuller, truer and more profound. As such, in honor of the new covenant we honor our Lords ressurrection. I Obey jesus who rose three days after his death on sunday and keep to his new covenant promise. I obey our lord, not the speculations and abstractions of men.

Given the infallibility of the Pope. What are catholics meant to do if the pope says something heretical or says something wrong?
@justhair178 ай бұрын
1. Not everything the Pope says is infallible, very few things are. And if it is infallible, it cannot be wrong or heretical by any means. 2. Not everything the Pope says is even binding on the faithful. 3. Show me one occasion of them saying anything heretical in an official capacity

1. At least use the proper 10 commandments, keeping sabbath holy is the 3rd one 2. Christ himself said that he is lord of the sabbath. And he rose on Sunday, so thats why its celebrated as the day of the Lord. 3. Sunday is considered the 7th day in most countries today. 4. Literally most protestants also celebrate sunday as holy

@@justhair17 These are the 10 Commandments according to the Holy Bible! Most Protestants are WRONG about the Sabbath day! The [Roman Catholic] Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant. -The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942, p. 4.
