The software can be 'taught' which is more akin to finding patterns to show. That's what a 'AI art' is. It's a souped up search engine that searches a database of pictures and then takes elements to fit some parameters. It almost never gets it 'right' the first time, so the user has to refine it, and then it tries again until the user is satisfied.
