Sometimes bad becomes worse before it becomes great. This time on Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan buy a '77 Cadillac Eldorado that's been chopped in half and poorly mated with a 16-foot trailer to make a CadiRamp. After splitting down the middle, lofty goals of using it as a boat hauler quickly turn into a whole new creation, The EldoWrongo, with the help of Shea Seefeldt from Runs Good.

Y'all do in full scale exactly what I did with plastic model cars in the early 70's when I was a kid. I'd use the spare parts from models that had optional parts (I built a lot of model cars), and use the "parts trees" to build a frame for what I called "junk models". I'd use a candle to "weld" the plastic frames together, and they had to roll so I usually bought "AMT" models that had metal axles. Throw in an engine and other bits of extra parts, then destroy it as soon as it was built... much like Roadkill. Thanks for reminding me!

yes, revisit this do not spend another dime on a Cadillac engine though. You already know this put in a big block Chevy but I say leave the front transaxle. That’s what makes it cool and then take that road journey. We’re only getting older fellas. Thank you for the good times and the laughs.

This is a rip, not the actual guys. Also roadkill wasn't a youtube show, it's always been owned by Motortrend (TEN). youtube gave MT like $3000 to make a few episodes and upload them which only paid for like 4 episodes. Motortrend decided to keep it going using money from MTOD subscriptions.

I had a 72 eldorado convertible. My dad and i pulled the stock engine and trans out, i acquired a 454, 4l85e, and 12 bolt from a 1997 2wd 3/4 ton suburban, built a trans tunnel out of a 1985 ford f250 bedside, made some engine mounts, trans mounts, cross member, rear suspension capture points, rear wheel drive eldo. I installed a big camshaft, single plane Edelbrock intake manifold, 849 cfm holley street avenger (I know i know cringe) long tube headers and side exits, dropped the thing to the ground and put some solid black steel wheels from Detroit speed, the thing was totally badass. It was originally black with a white top, white interior. With the super tall gears in the rear end and the working limited slip the thing did the best burnouts. Im talking 300 feet at least 70mph. The car was so good rear wheel drive i honestly have no idea why Cadillac designed them wrong wheel drive. Think of how rad a 1997 eldo would have been rear wheel drive. They would have been TH E car man. Such a shame.

Nice build. If you had flipped the rear axle backwards. The non-essential drive shaft receiver would now be a PTO like a tractor has. Incase you wanted to pull some farm equipment with PTO support.

I hope this thing isn't completely blown up and makes a comeback. I can tell you with 99% certainty that the factory catalytic converter is a big part of the engine problems. It's the old bead style which flow like cold molasses when they're new, let alone a few decades old. It's causing a significant amount of blockage and backpressure, which is why even with no muffler there's still no noise coming out. Cut it off and it'll breathe and work much better.

Back in the 80's a fella could buy those 425 motors for $100 all day because nobody wanted them... My buddies old man raced dirt track and would tear them down, cam, port and polish heads and throw a huge carb on em and just beat the snot outta them... He had to fab his own adapter plate to bolt it to a rear wheel drive turbo 400... Constantly doing burn outs and doughnuts in the middle of the street... Old Ron was my first inspiration to build hopped up junk and terrorize the community...

Take the FWD caddy and replace the trailer section with a single pivoting rear wheel. Then ditch the steering system by locking the steering in place and replace the steering wheel with a set of sand rail turn brakes. So then we are left with turn brakes and a gas pedal. Think of all the unnecessary parts you could do away with.
