Vicki in that black wig killed me! This is like fighting for parking spots now, isn't it? 😂 Such classical funny stuff, no direct obscenity but always implied with great subliminal effort, how they didn't lose it in every sketch I'll never know. Thank You!

I love Carol Burnett. My mother looked so much like Carol, they could have been twins. And mother loved Carol, too. In the '70's, the whole family watched her shows together. My mother had a cackly laugh. She literally cackled. The only times we heard her laugh so much that she cackled was during the Carol Burnett show. The rest of us would already be laughing at what was going on in the show and then when mother cackled that cackle of hers was even more hilarious! Our whole family would be laughing so hard both at the show and mother's cackle that we could hardly breathe! We were nearly on the floor laughing! It was hard to calm down after that...it was hard to stop laughing...except that we wanted to see what was next on the show! Mother died very young--at 42 after being sick for many years. Carol Burnett and her show brought more joy to my mother's life than almost anything else (have to think she might have been happier on her wedding day and at the births of her children....but you never know. I bet she wasn't cackling at those times! 😃 I've always wanted to thank Carol for the joy she gave my mother, and tell her she and my mother looked like the were twins. I hope somehow she reads this.

That whole show is still enjoyable today. And to think they had to throw it together every evening. They didn't have the luxury of a full week. The chemistry was superb. What a bunch of nuts! I guess it's kind of like any other kind of team ,be it sports or business. You pick the people who complement each other's talents. This team definitely was chosen properly.

I have enjoyed and studied everyone from Chaplin to Keaton to Harold Lloyd to Groucho to Sid Cesar to Red Skelton to Jonathan Winters to Jackie Gleason to Bruce and Pryor and Carlin, et al. .. And I tell you, given the time constraints of learning material and performing on a weekly show, and to be so flawless and to have created so many indelible moments, Carol Burnett is the greatest clown/comedic performer I have ever witnessed (and perhaps only Harpo Marx was as well-liked and respected among his peers and audiences alike)....

People are always talking of how Tom Hanks is "America's favorite uncle"; but long before Tom, there was (and is) Carol Burnett, arguably the most professional and personable star ever on a stage... I tell you that Carol Burnett should be the Rorshock test for people you allow into your immediate circle of friends: if someone doesn't love and admire Carol Burnett, there is something very wrong with them, and you should run away from them as quickly as possible!!
