When I was in grad school at NYU in the mid 1990s I'd sometimes wander over and watch a game.

I don't live in New York City anymore but I figured I would look up a video of the cage. It's funny that I found this particular video because I used to torch that dude in the red when I played there.Let me tell you about that court, you have to be able to play through the physicality down there because they don't like foul calls even when it's obvious 😂 at times and you have to know how to play defense, I became a much better basketball player thanks to playing there.

He said summer league tournament, it doesn't mean folks who leave in that area can't go play at that park, it's a park but when the tournament start real players show up.

It is expensive to live there this time! I used to live there before. I moved out to Texas in 2007. But still NYC is popular for street basketball.

If you visit there make sure you visit the cage, it's fun and if you like chess Washington Square Park just around the corner from the cage has good chess players and hustlers, Bobby Fischer used to play there.
