To an extent this version of Jasper and Steven's initial conversation is actually more reasonable then the one that happened in canon. Steven and Jasper get heated about something that's actually worth confronting! There's no Steven actively talking down to Jasper because he's frustrated with her bull. It's actually a realistic confrontation about her issue with him.
