The Calves Have Left The Ranch

We've weaned the calves and they're doing good on their own but they need one more vaccination before hauling them off the ranch for cover crops. For most of these calves, this is their last day ever on the ranch while few will spend their entire lives here. It's always dissapointing to see that summer truly has left us, but this means we're getting that much closer to the next one & a brand new set of calves!

I enjoyed your video, mainly because one of my uncles, Frankie Phillips(my mother's older brother) had a farm outside of Statham, GA in the 1960's thru the '70's where is raised numerous crops, beef cattle, hogs, & chickens for their eggs. He had three chicken houses with most likely thousands of chickens, whose eggs had to be hand gathered & graded every day. His wife Nellie worked there as well as her brother, C. W. Potter. And his mother lived there until she passed in July 1964. We always enjoyed visiting as my mother's siblings, spouses & children would come when they knew we would be there. Those were my good ol' days.
