Thankyou for these episodes. I am planning to start the Camino at the start of September which seems to be around the same time of year that you did this. I was surprised that the weather didn’t look as warm and nice as I would have expected. It was really helpful for me.

Thank you for this. I plan to walk from St Jean to Logrono in late September (I can only do 14 days vacation) and this vlog is so very helpful. I did Sarria to Santiago last year and it was awesome, but this time I will be doing it solo. I don't know if I can still do it this year though, so hopefully next year this will be my walk.

I really enjoyed the part from St.Jean to Logrono, beautiful scenery, great pinchos and wine! We were hoping to go back to the Camino this year but now it looks very unlikely( Hopefully, next year we all will be able to return to the Camino! Stay safe!

Absolutely brilliant and informative video- thank you! I am extremely excited to be doing myb first Camino, el Camino frances 2nd April 2020 as a solo woman! Glad to see you are hiking this solo too. What did you use to film your video? And what editing tool did you use? Friends and family have asked me to do a video log but I have no fancy equipment just my smartphone. Maybe I need a selfie stick to keep the filming steady? thanks for any tips you can offer!

Thank you very much for the comment! I'm sure you'll have a great time on the Camino! Spring is the most beautiful season for walking! I used GoPro Hero 6 it works great, I took video and photos. I saw some people vlogging using their smartphones new ones have really good cameras it might be enough to make videos. Buen Camino!

I've enjoyed some of your videos and appreciate the information as I'm considering doing a Camino at some point in the future. When did you do this Camino? And what time of year would you recommend doing it to avoid big crowds but still have nice weather?
@StingyNomads4 жыл бұрын
I walked it in September it's the busiest month on the Camino Frances. We've walked a couple of other Camino routes in May-beginning of June and it was very nice but those routes (the Portuguese and Via de la Plata) are less crowded in general. I find spring is a very nice time for walking in Spain and Portugal it's warm but not too hot, not too many people, many albergues get annual cleaning in winter fewer chances of getting bedbugs, the scenery in spring is very beautiful as well.
@daniel-t5974 жыл бұрын
@@StingyNomads Thanks for your detailed response! Spring sounds like the best time to go. Keep on truckin!

What would be your recommendation for getting to SJPDP from Cape Town. Planning my first Camino in May 2021.
@StingyNomads4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'd suggest flying from Cape Town to Paris, Madrid or Barcelona. We always fly from/to CT via Madrid or Barcelona. In this post stingynomads.com/french-way-camino-de-santiago-guide/ we explain step by step how to get to SJPDP from any of these 3 cities with different transport options.

no Orisson?
@StingyNomads5 жыл бұрын
Orisson is not a compulsory stop I was pretty confident I'd have no problem to walk from St.Jean to Roncesvalles in one day.
@carrigman5 жыл бұрын
It's a nice place to stop for a coffee but as you get there within two hours of leaving St Jean it makes no sense to stop there for the day - unless you start out late in the afternoon. The vast majority of walkers make it Roncesvalles or beyond (I stopped at Espinal) without any difficulty.

@@carrigman certainly not a race to Santiago…it’s nice to stop and enjoy. Go slow in the beginning so you stay strong in the end.
