Fascinating mythical island! There is an entire book in French about this island. It is called L'île aux Démons by map curator Alban Berson. It was released recently in Canada. Having access to primary French sources (especially Thevet's work), the author offers the most complete and compelling explanation for the mythical Island.

Hey it's Verrazano! lol. Wow, it looks like it was just released a few weeks ago. It may have been a tough read for me though. The language barrier is always an issue when researching for my videos, unfortunately.

@@GeographyGeek You are doing a great job nonetheless! Your channel is very informative and fun to watch. According to the book, Thevet has never been to Canada and probably never met with Marguerite de La Roque like he claims to. At the end of his life, he wrote a never-published manuscript about islands around the world (now held by the French National Library) in which he explains that there were no real demons on the island and that Marguerite who was traumatized after being abandoned was just having visions. Thevet is a peculiar character. Being the Cosmographer to the king of France, he had access to a tremendous amount of geographical information at the time. But he also had an uncontrollable imagination and loved fame. It is really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff in his books.

Several of these maps also feature a “S. Brandain” island. Is this a reference to St. Brendan’s Island? That would be another interesting video, as this is an island told of in the Life of St Brendan that likewise was put on maps in the period. I’ve seen one where it was by the Canaries, but here they put it way out in the Atlantic near this isle of demons.

Nobody ever said women were weak, femdom thinks that a biological woman has the capacity to make it in Marine Corps Force Recon. The only problem is 99% of biological women wouldn't make the cut without the requirements being severely softened. Not because sexism but because if you can't make it X number of miles with 100Ibs of gear unassisted at just shy of sprinting, you aren't eligible for Force Recon.

I believe they are referencing Newfoundland, CANADA. The Vikings told stories about Newfoundland, and that’s where they encountered the “wretched people” which were native Americans. The natives sent the Vikings packing. Viking camps were found in northern Newfoundland, and the remains of the Vikings slaughtered were loaded full of arrows after they were dug up.

They claim there was a 'great reset' and the elites destroyed this 'advanced civilization' (a bunch of tent dwelling, hook nosed yak fookers - yeah right!) using techtonic weaponry to create 'mud floods' to bury it ha ha. Since there is also some tale about an island called Bermeja that doesnt appear on “less old” maps, are there further Islands not appearing on more recent Maps? Or what about seemingly re-appearing ones like phantom island between Australia and New Caledonia? Or the ones on the listverse site “Top 10 Nonexistent Islands That Appeared On Maps”? How many such “cases” would there be? do those seeming Mandela effect like events support ideas like the one of Atlantis; also thaught by Solon, a teacher of Plato? Graham Hancock confirmed that Solon was accurate due to the matching of the numbers.

@@jakesaunders8955 So since i have an own view of "story or history telling" of Graham Hancock, how did you achieve the conclusion that he would rather resemble an entertainer then sharing his knowledge in a lot of his content? Or am i simply seeing the truth in his value not even interacting with "his" enter-tain-ment as you might mention? I think a guy like him doesn't have to "invent" stories material. Did you have certain contact with him an d got a disappointment? But most tired youtube watchers might see him as "the missing entertainer" when he is clicked on for thinnening people's frustration, as an unasked server of internet slavery. Or would you explain the lacks or what that would be (or appear as) that solid-ifies your proposal not to "weighten" Hancock too heavy? I'm glad to have gathered a profound opinion on a lot of topics or people, even if i haven't met them in real life.
