So sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing, your story reminded me of my experience of losing my Mom. Though most of the care she received was excellent, from palliative to hospice at home, we too experienced the insensitivity and dismissiveness of ‘professionals.’ In fact, Mom was a healthcare professional herself, Filipina-American RN. It’s going to be tough, but re-experience the memories of your Dad and cherish your Mom. Congrats on your marriage.

Pancreatic Survivor of early stage here. I’m sorry that your dad went through this! This Cancer is relentless enough and the thought that they robbed his peace and comfort. I’m so scared as I went with this disease. Weight loss, Chemo, major surgeries and grim survival rate. I too was misdiagnosed and had to be my own advocate. Love to you and your family 💜😢

So sorry for your loss and what you and your Dad had to go through. I hope that you put in a formal complaint to the hospital and palliative care over the appalling treatment he received. They need the feedback to hopefully improve their standard of care.

WOW 😢 my heart is heavy hearing this. The compassion and dignity within the healthcare system has been diminished due to lack of staff, support and greed of the corporations. The Lord be with you and your family….❤

Hopefully someone w authority will see your family story and take measures to prevent such things in the future. How did drs in equador confirm the cancer diagnosis? Did they do a biopsy? I lost both my parents also to indolent cancer and the each passed in about a week. No doubt there was and will continue to be so much love from and for your dad. The grief will gradually give way to gratitude. Just know that he is watching over you and it was his time… he lives on in the love you live by…. 🙏 💪 😇

I just watched your video and am so grieved by it but also felt so prompted to share this. I lost my hubby in 2021 when my children were 2, 4 and 6 years old. We live in Australia and up to then I thought we lived in the lucky country with advanced care..but my husbands experience in his last hours were woeful (won't go into detail). However, it showed just how low empathy and 'whatever' the attitude of ambulance and hospital staff were..following protocol like robots and doing not much 'healing' or proactive care. My country and I know many others like UK and Canada have changed dramatically and ironically, first world citizens are now going to countries like Thailand and Malaysia to received world class healthcare at a fraction of the cost..and even moving there to benefit from a greater quality of life. My advice is seriously consider moving countries and go where you and yours are treated best. WE have similar wait times and horrible treatment at hospitals here and this is why I am making plans to move my family out of here...hospitals may be rarely needed but when they are, you need to know they will react fast to save and give quality of life.

That's not the way that our elders should be treated in their final days and hours. So sorry for your dad, and the family.

Believe me, things have changed for the worst here in Ontario, Canada for the last approx 20 years or so. It used to be wonderful. Something changed. Tax money is no longer going towards healthcare like it used to and nobody is being held accountable. It's disgraceful.

Hi.. I'm sorry that you had to go through all this. May your Dad rest in peace. I'm a Canadian as well. I Don't think the Canadian Healthcare failed your father. I think it was the doctor at the Palliative care that failed your Dad. He could have found your dad the care he needed asap. As for them to come get your dad and declare his death.. well that was totally unacceptable. Hugs to your family

I’m so sorry your family had to go through all the craziness with the Canadian Medical System. My mom didn’t have the best experience either in Toronto when she was in Palliative Care in a hospital. She also had cancer which spread to multiple parts of her body. I feel like many have lost their compassion when working in the medical field…perhaps they have been overworked or a severely short-staffed. Whatever the case no patient should be treated this way. You should write a complaint letter to the top person of the palliative care team plus the doctor at the first hospital (their chief of staff). Anyhow so sorry for your family’s loss. Praying for your family to have some sense of peace somehow🙏❤️
