The Cuphead Show was going to have a season 4. But Netflix didn’t give them enough money to continue the series. Therefore, The Cuphead Show is canceled. But I hope to see a renewal for Season 4 with a different studio. Because Netflix is just a pain in the butt.

Just wanna point out the Popeye movie proof-of-concept wasn't as much a proof-of-concept as a straight up scene from the movie. The animatic/storyboard leaked and the scene is there in the form of sketches.
