Oh my god, stop that thing down to f/8 and it’ll probably be good for anything. Underrated is the word.

I've been looking at getting the panasonic 25mm 1.7 for my m43 camera. I knew what you could do with them for street photography and portraits. I do a lot of woodland walking and didn't think it would be as much use there. So nice to come across this video and it's made even more set on ordering the m43 nifty fifty.

I have this lens which I bought for my APS-C Canon 800D. I paid NZ $115 which was a great buy. What I use it most for now is on my second camera, a Canon M50 Mirrorless with adaptor. The combination is awesome, small camera excellent lens, great aperture. The whole pack is incredibly compact and for portraits and shots on the fly it just works. Great videos by the way, I like the laid back approach. John Pouw NZ

I was just thinking about doing something like this today and then this pops up. Having that 1.8 is really good in low light woodland conditions. It’s quite a natural feel to the images too 👍😁 Might try the 85mm this week. Thank you for sharing this

Could you do some lake photography with the 50mm? Need inspiration 😬

What a great video. You have a great style. I've just bought the 50mm 1.8 and am very new to photography. I have a Canon EOS M50 so I know I won't get the full effect, but it still looks like a must have lens. Thanks for the great tutorial. Best so far.

Hello Wayne, I find woodland photography the hardest of all too get the correct images, it sometimes helps me when there is water to be found nearby , it helps me compose more easily, its just difficult and I am never satisfied with the images I take.

Hi Colin, I agree with you. I think woodland photography can be challenging but very rewarding, I always appreciate a really nice woodland image. Sometimes you can find a good subject but the surrounding trees etc. can prevent you creating a good image from it. Water certainly can add interest. Thanks for watching and your comment :)

Great images! Your editing is flawless to the point of being invisible in the final image, which to me is perfect. Weirdly the 50mm, or 75mm on my 645 is the first lens I go for when shooting with film to the point I only have a 50mm for my favourite camera, my Zorki 4K. But I very rarely use one on my 5DIII, I have absolutely no idea why. Great video about an inexpensive lens that's always been the first prime you get.

Mark Harris Thank you Mark. I’ve always appreciated and aimed for natural looking images that reflect what I saw at the time of capture. I also like long exposures to achieve a certain look but my editing is always realistic. As for the 50mm lens, I really like using it and have captured some images with it that I’m really fond of. As you say it’s a great lens.

You chance mind, I always think than for landscape photography or nature the only option was a telephoto, macro o big angular objetives. Now I want to use my 55 mm in nature.

Shoot APSC, Nikon actually, have the equivalent 35mm prime. Had to buy it on advice. Never use it, total waste of money. I find zooms as light and more practical and just as good.
