30 minutes battery life - what battery are you using? Since the latest firmware update I get 60mins 8K raw and up to 75 mins in 4k xfavc using the standard LP-E6N canon batteries.

Yeah, I’m glad you mentioned that! With the Small Rig cage, it actually has a cold shoe mount on the left side of the battery where I mount my mic. I can also mount it on the camera’s hot shoe mount 👍🏼

To be honest, I have never tried to mount this camera on a gimbal. I have a DJI ronin 4D for those shots but I can’t see it being an issue because it’s not a tall camera to begin with. I don’t see how there would be issue with clearance in underslung mode. If you needed to, you could always mount the the V-Mount on the gimbal itself.

How much does the battery pack extend your shooting time

@@collectedvisuals with video, I’d say I shoot anywhere from 3-4 hours just running on this V-Mount. Now keep in mind, it’s not recording that full time, and the camera is being turned on and off. I only have one at the moment but will definitely be getting another one just as back up. Haven’t had an issue on a day shoot with only one though.

Hey, nice video. I would suggest you try the touchfocus control on the lcd while you use the viewfinder ... it is a gamechanger. freaking fast. I take the idea of a topmounted vmount ... Thanks!

Cool shots and footage! What video codec do you find match well the photo raw files? Do you use raw LT or xavc?

Thanks, I really appreciate that! 🙏🏼 So I’m shooting XF-AVC YCC422 10bit, with resolution at 3840x2160 L.GOP. I do so much grading on both my photos and video and to get them to equally match is knowing how to grade both photo and video well to have them match. The looks from the video were all graded in DaVinci resolve with my desired colour palette.

It’s not always going to work with usbc to usbc. The battery needs to support power deliver at 45w (I think I remember that right), the reason standard usb-a doesn’t work is that it’s limited to 5w charging.
