And in fact, it works in another way, in that the Canterbury Tales themselves were also popular entertainment, as you say, in the vernacular, so you have a popular verse being performed to the tune of a popular verse. Perfect.

Stunning! Many of these of videos are so funny and enjoyable because they provide the very things pop and rock songs are usually devoid of - beyond the fads and fashions of the day - namely, the sense of history and context. But "The Canterbury Tales" is marvelous in a different way. The original is one of the finest pop songs ever written and it captured perfectly the spirit of the moment. Hence this version does not feel like a (friendly) spoof, but a tongue-in-cheek hommage...Well done!...:)

Excellent! What a brilliant video well done history teacher and singers! What programme did you use? I am currently trying to find out if my Nan was related to the Lefevres who used to own the Lefevres Drapers in Canterbury. Her French Gran's maiden name was Lefevre and she lived in Bayswater. Lefevres is now Debenhams.

Given how many "cover" versions of this have been removed from YT it says something that there is no takedown request against this. It's not vernacular as that is a modern term. I found CT boring I preferred Julian Of Norwich myself.

Are there, really, any songs more pleasurable, and easy to listen to, repeatedly, than these 50 some songs? Are there any videos, really, that do as much, show as much, and tell as much, and are as pleasurable, and easy to view, repeatedly, than these 50 some videos? I think not. But if there are, I would go take a peek! (And come right back here!)

Well Done! Love the lyrics and the recital of the Middle English text! As usual, the background graphics are really well done. And you are all dressed similarly enough to the originals to fit the part. (Not to mention that you are all gorgeous, but I won't mention that.) With such voices, you should be famous, not just KZbin famous. My cat likes this one, and I assure you, this feline has excellent taste!
