I can so see myself in some tropical place with that pink hat a pink or salmon shirt with a white thin sport coat.

It happens to me all the time on my snap back hats, the salt from the sweat eats the color and stains and would not come off!

Some people have More alkaline to their sweat and it actually bleaches out the dye in a hat,like a chemical reaction..turns it pink,etc..

It would also match the inside of my fuzzy Les Paul case . I remember when I first opened the case I was like well I dont know if I like the hot pink color inside a day later it just grew on me and I was like who wouldn't like that!

They date back a long time, those Lifton cases,the 59’s came in something similar. I love those, I like the lil 70’s black ones more,I have two, and my SG came in a black crocodile one like yours, with white fuzz..,and I think I like the 70’s chainsaw cases most

I use them in my straw hats after you suggested them in another video. I like the terry cloth material, they take up some room in my bigger hats too. I like them!
@KTGHATS4 жыл бұрын
They’re good, I like them..I buy my hats 2-3 sizes too large, so I can use them, , but for the average hat wearer, not really...they take up so much room, you need to buy your hat extra roomy to accommodate them, if u had a loose hat, it’s cool, it’s perfect. ....but for regular hats that u buy in your actual size, there’s no way to fit it in there..

Carpet cleaner is pretty effective at removing sweat stains from felt.. If you wanna prevent sweat from soaking through the sweatband then the old school method of placing a length of oilcloth/oilskin behind the sweatband around the forehead area works well & rubbing a wax candle over the sweatband stiches & along the felt under the brim where it meats the sweatband, just 1/8 of an inch is necessary, will stop the sweat soaking in.

U can use this Dr Scholl’s moleskin stuff too, a lil circle inside the roof of the crown,to prevent stains, and between your forehead and the sweatband. Like a homemade, customizable cap ban nu, but I use it under the leather..so u can still wipe down the sweatband and keep it dry.

Oddly enough I have one stitch on the back of my akubra bushman that’s started soaking up sweat right away. Doesn’t bother me since it’s my outdoor/camp hat.

As long as it’s still in the band area it’s fine, it can always be covered later with a new band..or a wider band. U can try to pin Pint that stitch and lay a little silver dollar sized square of gaffer(duct)tape inside the crown,under the sweatband, or under the lining.. to block it..another customer suggested using candle wax, but good,thick,waterproof duct tape does the job.. after 5-7 years the tape will lose some stickiness and get a little brittle,dehydrated, but it’ll still do the job, usually u forget it’s in there

Also the most authentic I. Jones hat I’ve seen.

First saw ths in another video and i'm interested but some of my hats are pretty snug and i'm concerned these might make them TOO tight. Would these best be used on hats that are a bit big on the head?
@KTGHATS2 жыл бұрын
Yes, u can trim them down, the shorter they are, the looser the fit, they’re around 10” long, just try trimming an inch off of each end if it’s too tight. Then another inch if needed. It’ll always feel a little tighter at first, the. Matt down and loosen up more.

@@KTGHATS i imagine the front of the hat is a crucial spot, is it possible to get by just doing the area that will touch the forhead?

That add on band looks like it would feel better against your forehead than the leather band that comes in the hat. Is it cotton? 👍☮️🌞🦠😷🎸

Yeah it’s cotton, it’s comfy when it’s dry.l but when u get hot, it gets wet..and sort of irritating I got used to it though, and it’s the only preventative ...u can always change it when it gets funky..for a dry one, I try to buy a couple,spares always,..yeah, all cotton. But leather is more comfortable because u can keep it dry, wipe it down with a cloth, while the cotton pad stays wet,and then after it dries .. bacteria etc the leather is actually more comfy in the hot summer, but the pad is softer when you’re not hot.
