Beautiful, handsome and talented Butch Moore. We were so proud of him in the Eurovision. Fell in love with him then even tho I was only 12 yrs. Rest in Peace Dear Butch ❤

What a pleasure it is to see these fine musicians one more time. Top class professionals every one, and a lovely group of guys as well. Looking at this posting in its entirety shows their enormous versatility, and absolute mastery of so many different genres of music. Had they been born and bred in the US they would have been world famous multi-zillionaires. It is enormously poignant to see just how many of these wonderful gentlemen now have the letters 'RIP' after their names. We miss every one of them but give thanks to God for the privilege of knowing them, dancing to them and singing along with them over so many, many years. Thank you gentlemen of the Capitol Showband. and God bless you all. Every one! And an enormous Thank You also to the wonderful Susan McCann for the many many hours of pleasure she has given me over the years as well. Top class in every respect.

Might be right in thinking Butch Moore represented Ireland in the Eurovision, I say might maybe wrong but he's my first recollection of us entering.
@sentimentaloldme Жыл бұрын
You are correct..Butch Moore was one of the first Irish singers to sing in the Eurovision...The song was titled "Walking The Streets In The Rain"

In fairness, that band has to be the best instumentalists that ever got together in Ireland. Every member got featured. ( I had pleasure of meeting Des Kelly, he actually managed a band I was in)

I so agree I lived on the Wadelie Estate in Ballymun when a bunch of these lads were at the Albert College and got to know them well .Followed them, The Royal Showband and Dickie Rock all over the place . Great times with standing room only at the halls wherever they performed . A much gentler and saner time
