I hated Ric Flair as a young fan. Detested, wanted Sting to destroy him. That means he did his job very well. People joke about Flair Country in the South of the USA. It's not exaggerated, Flair is an actual living legend in the Carolinas.

As a kid I grew up watching him on Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling on Saturday afternoons in Virginia (the show was taped in either Greensboro NC or Raleigh NC, I forget which). So I've been a Nature Boy fan for 40+ years. Here in Charlotte he really is an icon from all that time in NWA Mid-Atlantic and also Georgia and Florida.

Flair's hair color has always baffled me...I'm 30, and as such didn't get into wrestling until around 1998, when he was already a bit older. So I assumed his hair was white-ish due to age. Then I see all these younger pics and footage and his hair was still never really blonde, it's like white and only shines blonde when it catches light...wth is up with that? Lol

Honestly the saddest thing about Flair's TNA run is what he said at the broken skull sessions episode with Steve about it. Steve: "What can you tell me about the TNA run?" Flair: "I needed the money. It was fun, but I honestly needed the money." The two then went on to talk about how there is no exit plan for professional wrestling. How it feels like it's supposed to last forever, and then it ends and you suddenly really need money.
