@@barco581 you underestimate the power of the USD. Yes, one country does have this type of control. The inflation of that dollar is how the world dollar has switched countries in the past. The USD has been the official reserve currency of the world since 1944. Before that, it was the UK pound Sterling. Biden has made record braking inflation here in the US and that affects the whole world. Unless of course, you ask Biden then he says he doesn't have the power to do anything about anything making the US very seem very weak.

With regards to the value of the dollar do you want a stronger or weaker dollar? How exactly would the US president set the value, after all, the USD is a worldwide commodity. Here are some quotes from the CATO Institute, a conservative think tank from June of 2021: "Blaming the U.S. for rising commodity prices in Turkish lira and Russian rubles is strange." "The answer, as usual, is Blame America. Only the questions change." If we look at the value of the USD from the mid 1970s-today we don't see a correlation with inflation. In fact, this is the highest level of inflation since 1982, when Reagan was in office. Gas prices are super high as we know, and are pretty close to their last high of 2008 under George W Bush. If we look at all of the recessions from the 1920s until today we see they are pretty much evenly split between parties who were in the White House. Again, I am not arguing partisan politics on here but just stating some facts. Regardless, there are some great performance cars to gobble up right now that will most likely not drop when inflation does and were already going up pre-covid! That is what I am focused on...

Oil companies, consumer goods companies, they are all raking in record profits. They saw during covid that consumers could be squeezed and so they've decided to jack up prices far beyond what should be possible, solely in the name of making more profits.

I already dealt with this as a firearm enthusiast with other administrations, dealt with chip shortages as a computer enthusiast, and now can't even enjoy my car. I hear ya. I waited for the kids to get out of college and for a new house purchase to close before buying my last muscle car. Came close to getting a 50th Anniversary R/T a couple years ago, but didn't like the color and options package on it. Figured I would wait to get one equipped more the way I wanted. Oops! Spent the last year and a half looking at just about every performance option out there and came to the conclusion that it was going to cost way too much and still not be what I wanted. With gas at $5 now I guess I made the right decision to get a blackout package Camry XSE 🙂 Slow as a snail, but it looks fast! Hang in there, your day may still come!

I remember when I got my license back in '96...$5 used to fill half a tank on my '85 Nissan Maxima. I never thought anything of it and then I saw gas prices start shooting up in the mid 2000's and thought it was normal they were going up along with everything else. Then a few years ago when "OrangeManBad" was in office I started seeing gas prices go down again. As low as $1.70 in some places and was so shocked and happy bc I thought I'd never see those prices ever again. Now it's back to feeling hopeless again and sad part is, a lot of kids these days don't remember gas prices being low b4 so they are conditioned to thinking this is normal...just as I was b4

But with EV you at least have an alternative, yes it cost $$ but I’m fiscally responsible and have $$. I can get solar panels, capture the energy, store in batteries that hold that captured energy and then use that energy to… power my house and fill up my charge level in my EV. Thus eliminating the need to tap into the grid, My home essentially become a utility on it’s own. Yes, this will be expensive ($60-70 thousand) but I’ve been saving and am responsible with my $$ as previously stated.

Oil companies have iver 9000 approved drilling permits. In 2021 we produced more oil than in 2020. This year we’ll beat last. We are the worlds largest oil producer in the worlds. Keystone pipeline would’ve Had zero effect on production. 💪

@@gtrance3567 oil companies may very well have drilling permits, but according to the EIA U.S. Energy Information Agency the actual drilling rig count is down 50% as compared to the years 2016 to 2020. They may indeed have permits, but they are not drilling. Production has fallen in half.

@@irishsoccerguy Ill save you a boring list , but ive had a 2011 corvette and will take the 392 scat over it all day long ....the challenger is super fun because the torque is all down low , off the bottom ..then with the paddle shifters , you are always in the right spot for torque ....I used to have an 87 porsche 930 turbo slant nose , and a GNX grand national ...but the 392 challenger, it wayyyyyy more fun .

I’m a contractor that earn a decent living by hard work. I drive a 3/4 ton truck all over often towing a trailer. 3 tanks of gas a week average. $135 on my last fill up. My HellCat usually drinks a half tank a weekend. I have to cut back on all other spending just to afford gas/ food for the family. I don’t live an exorbitant life but extra dinners out, shopping for extras, vacation etc is getting cut way back. I’m not the only one and this will affect my local economy in a hurry. Don’t forget people, government interference that skyrockets gas costs is a HUGE tax on everyone but affects middle and lower class the most

Nailed it @RacerX. As Ive mentioned, I recently picked up my brand new 21 Challenger T/A 392 Scat Pack. The deaIer order it in April 2021 and it did not arrive until Feb 2022. I have already been offered 5K more than I paid for it! Used car prices, along with fuel, food etc etc are all spiraling outta control. When people are willing to pay 85K for a T/A Scat Pack with 500 kms on it...you know they are in very short supply. I feel lucky to have mine...even if I am paying 8.50$ a gallon for 93 Octane fuel here in Canada. 145$ to fill a 70 liter tank yesterday. Crazy!

And finally after so long I wanted to 5.0 swap it and throw some big turbos on it and everything. If you haven't noticed, this inflation problem is happening all over the world, not just in the US. Our elected officials can't affect the prices for goods in all of the other countries of the world. Our inflation here is the same as everywhere else so no, a vote for a certain political party won't fix this.

Yes. We went from a 2020 pandemic recession and little demand to a hot freaking economy and huge demand. Did you know that in 3020 our producer actually cut production in an effort to raise prices? Gas just hit 4.80 a gallon in Ohio for 87 octane!!! My 392 TA is not hitting the street at all right now!! I work for an Auto maker and we’re working less than 40 hours a week and gas is costing about 500 bucks a month between my wife and myself!! It’s terribly tough right now!! Unless you plan to build a KZbin channel around that vehicle I would say you've may have made a terrible decision. The reason the dealership gave you a huge discount is because the newer vehicles are marked up and other factors(economy is in a shthole) resulting in decline in sales. The demand for used vehicles has skyrocketed, so im sure the dealer will recoupe handsomely. Maintaining the RT Challenger would've been the ideal option if it was paid off considering all factors economically.

Nah- the Scat won’t burn that much more gas than an RT. I’ve got a Scat on order and my ‘13 RT already gulps gas. I honestly don’t expect to see a ton of difference in fuel consumption. Of course driving style will impact. Get the Scat!

I had really wanted to buy a Hellcat in around a years time and could have made that a feasible option, however now, with gas prices, and the rising costs of everything else it would just make it a huge financial burden. So for now, I’m going to be driving my 05 GP GTP since it was a car I paid cash for and it is relatively reliable since it has the 3800 engine. I’ve seen too many of my friends get into a car they had no business in buying due to the financial strain it put on them.

Just custom ordered an R/T Scat Pack Widebody. Got a pretty good deal considering where things are headed adn current dealer adjustments. No dealer adjustment, paid dealer invoice + $1,000, which felt good and a lifetime warranty on anything that oil touches for $0. I think it's highly dependent upon where you live as well. The only crappy part is now waiting 6-8 months for the car! BTW, really enjoy the channel and content.

I even took the Greyhound bus all the way down to Iowa to drive it off the Dodge dealership lot. I have enjoyed ever last minute rowing thru the gears. This weekend is the Midwest Mopar show in Minnesota and I will be there. SO, yes times suck. They did back in the late 70s too. For car nuts, nothing will ever equal the satisfying roar of 8-cylinders, but in a couple of generations few will know what we are talking about as they hum around in their EVs. Anyway, about car prices, they have always been high relative to income. In the '70s, a well-equipped family sedan cost $3 to $5k but the average wage was somewhere around $9 to $12k a year.
