My dad used to play her on Sunday’s, much to my mom’s chagrin and dismay, as she converted to a non Mainstream Christian congregation that viewed secular gospel music as false (In many ways, that’s true, if you’re using it for profit, and not for the good of furthering the ministry.). That said, Shirley Caesar used to make my legs jump, for some reason, and I used to find myself in my room dancing, jumping, and singing her songs (no shouting, so my mom wouldn’t hear me 😂)! Ms. Caesar could really sing!

Is this photo taken at the Oakland Auditorium. The gentleman behind them reminds me of Paul Reid, concert promoter and owner of Reid's records. Those were great concerts, they should have lasted forever.
