I put a big round Gomexus cork knob on my c2000 vanquish and I love it. It came with a ton of washers and got it 100% rattle free and spinning freely.

@@ifishcatfish i think part of that is the urge to customise things - I definitely have that, but the tiny little pin knob that comes with the smaller Vanquishes was just too fiddly for my big cold hands.

Do you think you can use a shimano baitcast knob as substitute for buying a vanford knob? I have 21 scorpion handle assembly and was wondering if i can use those knob for cardiff.

if u can find Vanford knob it will fit... If you can't find and u need only one.. maybe i can sell you one of mine. But i would rather not. shop around first for Vanford knob.

@@thatonebeone Vanford has only one model and one year : ). It was released 3 years ago and doesn't have a refresh yet. I think before Vanford was Stradic CI4+, and im pretty sure those knobs will fit too.

yes, bearings will work. Washers... u never know.. every knob is unique.. u might need an extra, or u may have to remove one, there is no telling

going to get the new legalis 2500 for squid fishing, is it rigid enough any stem flex like the old one ?

no stem flex after 2020 even in the old one. Thats the only thing they fixed in 2020. This one is very rigid too. Of course i only have the 2000... its possible for the 2500 to be different but i doubt it. I recommend Fuego for saltwater though. Legalis has no seals

Hello sir I have about 13 baitcast and the latest Cardiff fitted with hawgtech flat cork knob. check it out imo best look and feel. Over 15 years I think still perfect

If they don’t add the tool in the box to remove the ugly gold cap, won’t you still have to buy one to take it off to put on the vanford knob? Also I also don’t even get why they would put that big of a cork knob on a crappie/trout reel. Of course if it was a 2500+ it would makes sense. But a c2000s or a 1000ssspg? I don’t understand them. Shimano doesn’t read their message requests, or responses from users in America. I want a word with them too 😡

Well the knob will have a flat cut in the middle like all the other knobs i buy from China. You can open it with a flat tip screw driver, which everyone already has. That is if you MUST have that obnoxious cap on the first place. But you can have a regular cap, which will not seal the knob, of course, but again, sealing is not important for this particular tackle. Like i mentioned, the Presso, which is a more expensive reel, comes without any cap at all. If they spare the tool and the cap, and the o-ring on the cap, they spared enough money to put a standard flat knob for people who are not ready to transition to a big round cork knob.
