I've searched everywhere for a Presso, over here in England, without success, so I'm thinking of getting the Shakespeare micro,, or maybe a Abu Devil,, which would you advise,,?? All the best from across the pond my friend,, 👍
@ifishcatfish2 сағат бұрын
The Shakespeare Micro costs 20 dollars in USA. I don't consider this a purchase. I spend 40 dollars on gas every time i go fishing, and 30 dollars on food : ). You can buy the Shakespeare in all cases, and then think if u want a different rod

@ifishcatfish4 сағат бұрын
Yes, but it is more on the light side. That said, i don't think you need Medium light rod for anything except catfish or carp or stuff like that. You should handle any bass just fine on ultralight..

@ifishcatfish4 сағат бұрын
we don't use 10 foot rods here in USA. Even 8 foot is considered crazy long. In USA people cast to the fish. I know u guys in UK like to assemble these 7 piece 7 meter long rods and just drop on top of the fish, but here this just doesn't exist..

Good video Victor. The TM molds are the same. If you were to pay him a million bucks he would not change the size of it. Issues come in with different pigments. I'm out there on a regular basis and know the guys personally in the mold shop. Sometimes I will even have them make me a color I drew up...but I always go back to the old faithful. My colors I dream up don't catch many fish🤣
@ifishcatfishКүн бұрын
Randy, i never said the molds are different.. But the baits ARE different! They are smaller and lighter. I got 4 emails yesterday from people from 2 states noticing the same thing, so i don't think it was a one time batch. If it was me i would change the dang pigments back because these things are now too small even for me. I like a tiny lure, but this has no body left. Ask them if they changed the pigments on the crappie magnet too! If they shrank the crappie magnet, it may actually be perfect size now : )

These bearings fit my 2023 Legalis 2500 but the spacer is different so you can only use one bearing on the back side which is fine ...still makes it a lot better and the back side bearing is plenty to support it with the bushing in front ..also keeps the water out

That's a lot of Bluegill! Two videos from the same location. Unreal! Right tackle for the job = success. Didn't hurt that you found the "honey hole." You're right when you say "how do you go home" when you're on them like that! Also appreciate your comment on the difference in the reel quality. Price and "higher" quality don't make a difference in the enjoyment factor of "catching" over a hundred fish a day. Great job and thanks for sharing.

You’re exactly right, reeling while they’re pulling drag is creating line twists. I prefer my drag a little bit heavier than yours but we’re pretty much on the same page. I also adjust my drag depending on the fish… We were crappie fishing recently and I landed a 6lb bass on 4lb test…😅 That was a freaking battle. Normally if you can grab the line near the reel and pull pretty hard and it doesn’t break you’re good. It’s just years of experience for me. The experts say 20%-30% of the line strength. Which would be 2 or 3lbs for 10lb test. I’ve never actually checked myself to see how close I am to the 20-30% but I don’t break fish off very often either.
@ifishcatfishКүн бұрын
U can enjoy listening to the drag but dont reel up exactly while its paying line..
@jimmywilson1388Күн бұрын
@@ifishcatfish Yes sir, exactly… I love hearing that drag sing…😃 I’ve got a tip for you also if you do have really bad line twists or if you put new line on a reel and it’s twisting up… Take everything off the line, just a bare line with nothing on it. Pull a few feet off and let the line dangle in the water while you’re trolling with the spool open… Let it pull a good bit off, at least as far as you’ll be casting but I let it go a little farther. Then close the spool and put a little tension on the line with your fingers and reel it back up. That will get rid of any twists and save you a lot of headaches…😅 I normally do all my spinning reels that I put new line on… I hope that helps you, it sure helped me several times.
@ifishcatfishКүн бұрын
yes, i've seen that on youtube. I have a faster version of that - just cast very far, hold the line with your fingers tight, and reel it up. At the end turn the rod upside down and let it untwist. All the twist will be in front of your fingers

I need a day in the lake like this! I’ve been going through your videos about fishing lines and the Varivas stuff looks so nice, but it seems like they are out of stock on some of the lines you and other UL guys like. Do you have any recommendations for a good alternatives?
@ifishcatfishКүн бұрын
alternative to what? I never recommended just a specific model. I like Varivas ester, but it doesn't matter which ester exactly. They all nice. I like their mono for float fishing, but i don't care which one - they all nice. Gosen also makes great ester line, and so does YGK. But none of them are cheap.
@kalex4352Күн бұрын
@@ifishcatfish thanks for your reply! I was eying their mono. The Super Trout Twitch master stuff for float fishing specifically. I was a little uneasy about trying an ester line because you mentioned it breaks off pretty easily. I’m new to ultralight so I didn’t want to go with something that light until I get a feel for it.
