Yes, this is in fact the song that plays during the final 6 minutes of Everywhere at the End of Time.

This version of the song would, to me, fit better at the end. It sounds way more peaceful. Usually, people who have terminal hulucidity are we more calm and accepting death. This version feels way more accurate. Side note they also usually talk about some kind of afterlife like Heaven.

This is from the Caretaker's second album, A Stairway to the Stars. This song was first introduced in his first album, Selected Memories from the Haunted Ballroom - it was two minutes long in that album. In this album, it was the second to last track and lasted about five minutes. It was never used again in the Caretaker discography until Everywhere at the End of Time, and I'm sure everyone here knows just about enough of that.

I started tearing up. It's the title - the fact that this same track featured at the end of Stage 6 of EATEOT makes me think that it's the Caretaker dying and re-uniting with lost loved ones in the afterlife, finding some peace in people death had parted him from, and comfort after suffering for so long.

@@yotokil2914 Not quite, .WAV is a lossless file format for audio. It just tends to be pretty large in file size, so it isn't used often, and .MP3 gets pretty close in quality nowadays.

it sounds not like an ascension to heaven but voices so sharp they cut the chains that have bound my soul to my withering body it is not the end for me but it is the end for those whos minds have descended and ascended into a scamble of madness enjoy the time you have with those you call family and those you call friends because one day either of you may take your final bow so enjoy life while you have it - Jazmine Estrella (Me) (My grandfather has dimentia and my grandma has cancer) (as they wither away this made me realize to enjoy the time I have with them)

I read that it’s from a very rare 1960’s recording that some choir did. They only had like 50 copies of that particular recording, they made a copy for each person in the choir. Luckily Leyland was able to get his hands on two copies from that recording. That’s where this one is sampled from. 😁
